say it reeeeeally fast

I think I picked it up on a british steam engine forum some years ago. They have some witty colloquialisms, or just plain rude expressions. "Richard Cranium" is another good one for when you're feeling too polite for base expletives.

....I thought he was one of the members, at first.

man, insulated gloves are the best investment i have ever made, riding around yesterday was chilly! gloves saved my poor fingers from freezing off.

although my cast is a pain in the arse, it leaves my toes exposed, only thing covering it is my sock. so by the end of the ride my foot was ridiculously cold.

I have the gear for it

So I'll be squeazing every possible riding day I can out of this year.

Lee, If it's nice on Wed or Thur, I've been wanting to take a ride out to PLP on #12. I didn't get a chance to do it this year. If not Saturday migght work if we get an early enough start.

"Two hat", I love it! there seemed to be no shortage of them yesterday on the roads. It was like everyone in a cage took a stupid pill and washed it down with dummy juice.

Star Wars helmet

I really like my Nolan jet style modular helmet... great outward visibility and comfort, but I find the visor fogs up relatively easy and the visor doesn't have any kind of mechanism to hold it in an intermediate position to ensure good airflow. On one of the ADV KLR threads (in the thumper forum) I found reference to this Ski-Doo BV2S helmet:

http://store.ski-doo.com/product/573.../_/BV2S_Helmet

Not like I'm going to buy one at $500 a pop, but seems like THE solution for fall/winter & early spring riding. ...probably not DOT approved for road use - it's a snowmobile helmet!

I've got one of these as they're great for sledding (my true favorite sport, let it snow in December please...)
They do not fog as you're wearing a mouthpiece that exhausts outside the helmet.
Great for deep snow riding when you need to stand (and fall off) lots. They have to be a snug fit and can be tight to put on. They are also very warm and don't have air vents.

I think that article pretty much sums up what I was hoping to get out of this new interest of mine - neither clubs nor colours, patches or pretense; just hope to meet good people, go places, have fun, and treasure the moments that create memories and "you shoulda seen.." type stories ;)

There is far too much complication out there. Time spent on 2 wheels should not be complicated.

....which is ironic in that I traded simple for a 110hp rubber-mounted computer...
(been reading a downloaded copy of the owners manual, which feels like studying for a test).

Do you guys think we can squeeze in one last tech day before it's too cold out? I've finally got my bike back on the road but I have this feeling I have missed the last tech day of the year...

The sentiment that I believe I've detected there made me smile.

.....or do you mean that you actually have some wrenching to do on that machine that's already been through the mangle and brought back to better than new this year?
