I thought you KLR riders would get a kick out of this website.

He also wrote a book, The New Northwest Passage, about sailing from Victoria to Halifax the hard way.
And he's from Riverton, Manitoba...

[QUOTE=John Fry;19834174]No hard feelings about you ignoring us.
Was my idea to go there. Love the White hot chocolate.

You know I was kidding right?

Went for a nice putt out in the country this afternoon with the frau. Took Roblin Blvd out of the city to Beaudry Park, further west along the Assiniboine river, crossed the TC-1 onto 424, followed 424 northwest along the river to 248 north (St Eustache)... must have passed 4 large hutterite colonies along the river on that stretch! There you can cross the river on 248 and come back to Wpg thru St Francis Xavier on hwy 26. What a nice loop, and especially with the beautiful weather we had this afternoon!

About all it needs now are some ADV stickers, and perhaps one or two fine examples of pithy innuendo ;)

We should just pick a nice day, skip the excuse of getting together to do actual work, and go have a BBQ in the park.

What a sight that would be... But since "nice" at this point in the year will be something like cloudy and 12c, perhaps spring would be a better time for that..

Yeah, great blog he has going there. Don't know why he doesn't just keep updating a ride report here on adv like most inmates do.

Mark, you're not kidding about him having big saddlebag boxes - they're ginormous! Wishing him the best in his adventure.

Getting set for another run to Moab, just a few pictures for those of you who are starting to put away the bikes for another season.

The Rose Garden (off in the distance),. Never did see any roses !

Some of less difficult sections.

Mark brings the "big KLR" down the hill carefully.... it's a two walk back to the motel!

Things seemed to get worse and with most of the day behind us, we decided to return to Moab before dark.

This would not have been fun if it had rained !

The hill climb was sketchy,

A last look at the Rose Garden, commenting, that a smaller, lighter bike maybe the way to go...

The variety of conditions... the next day, same time in the afternoon.

Not much fun, the engines were over heating and still about 2 miles short of completing the La Salle Loop Road.... maybe this year. Marks got new skins on the KLR and anxious to big them in to something !!!!

Snow, what...you guys didn't mention anything about snow

Funny thing is, the temp is forcasted...not that they know...to drop apon your arrival this year

BackRoader, that new KLX will power and float right up those hills for you!!

Thanks Ian!

Ian, I always appreciate being directed to new cool websites like the Dueck website. Sometimes I feel like the WWW gets a little dull as most of us tend to visit the same sites over and over again. I look forward to reading a fellow menno's exploits on a KLR! How about posting some of our favorite sites? Motorcycle related or otherwise? One of my favorite recommendations is called Stumbleupon. It's a site that will stumble through random websites that relate to a list of your interests which you input! Check it out: http://www.stumbleupon.com/
