I know it's a long way off but thought I'd post now just to see if there is a possibility of it showing up on anyone's future radar. Texas hill country has been a winter favourite of mine for a while now but have never made it to Big Bend yet. Lots of people say it's great. Could be just the thing for Jing..... I'll have to let the memory of Moab simmer down a bit before really planning for this. A Christmas/NewYears ride is being planned with Carla now and we could be renting out of Vegas or Miami for a little 2 wheel winter relief.

Moab 7 days and counting.................

I recommended to my buddy in Edmonton (who is looking for a dualsport) to snap this up. The heads already done too for Christ's sake! ... and by the late great KLRCary himself! How cool is that! One serious looking KLR IMO.

The temps that they use to do powdercoating shouldn't be high enough to change the barrel dimensions after it cools, so I'd say powdercoat after the bore/hone...

Rode in from St Andrews yesterday, after fixing two punctures on the RT.
Plugged a hole in the rear tire after pulling a 2.5 inch screw from it.
Sprayed the repair with soapy water to test it and found another leak 4 inches away, this time from a staple.
First punctures I've had in years and bizarre that they occurred so close together...

...this is why one of my Must Haves was tubeless tyres. Odds are good I'll never have a flat. Odds are good that when I do it'll be miles outside of cell range, and dicking with tubes at roadside doesn't seem to me like A Fun Activity. Not when it takes 3 - 5 guys to change a tyre at a tech day

I've been looking at various repair kits. I should order one this winter.

New Tires? Seems the only time I pick up a puncture is within weeks of getting a new tire

I picked up a cheap repair kit at Princes Auto. The piece of mind is worth the price of the kit. Some riders use puncture repair in a can.... Not sure where to get it, but with my luck the thing won't work after being carried around for years.

Pilot Road 3s mounted in Montreal on return from the Rock in mid-August. Not new, 10,000 Km + on them now, but plenty of tread left. Hoping to get another 5000 out of the rear, if the plugs hold up...

You can get it at Cdn Tire. I carried a can around for a couple of years on my ATV...until it exploded one day. Guess it wore thru Now the crap is all over the ATV and doesn't come off

Try WD 40 or Brake Clean... I use that shit on everything... WD40 removes Franks Red Hot Sauce.... lol
