Posted this on the Northern Ontario page also

Looks like some big time flooding in Wawa. I know this motel has been spoken of in ride reports

Thumbs down Darned chilly one for riding today!

Had to get out for a ride to try out the raising links I installed yesterday on the KLR. I boosted the air in the front forks up to 15 psi - absolutely marvelous! Sag is reduced quite a bit, and it's still plush on gravel, so all good. Went for a spin out to Beaudry Park... and left in a bit of a sudden snow squall! It's sure good for the head to get out for a spin in the country... saw a huge prey bird soaring, and a bunch of deer on the way back - cool. Hopefully we still have a few weeks before we're locked in solid with snow. I hate winter

I heard of this in the news today. That must have been a crazy amount of rain.
Wonder if Finndian is still dry?

.....pardon my ignernce, but how the heck do you put air into the KLR fork? I never saw a tyre chuck on mine

I had considered the Big Boy suspension links too, but by that time I knew I wouldn't be keeping the bike long term.

Pre 2008 only?

Don't forget Mark that my KLR is an oldie (a '92!). My understanding is that all the '87 to 2007 KLRs had schrader fittings on the fork legs, no?

BC looking!

Looks like something you'd see happen in BC! I didn't know the area got hit with torrential rains. Pretty big washouts... similar to the washout at Cypress Hills region on #1 between Maple Creek and Medicine Hat (what, 2 years ago)? I stopped and looked at the size of the repair job they had to do there, which took 'em forever to finish - won't be quick repair this one I'm betting. The hotel looks pooched.

you can modify almost any fork to air assist.
scrader valves with 1/8" pipe thread are available at pump supply stores.
just drill and tap your fork caps and air them up.
air acts as a progressive "spring".
....don't get stupid with the pressure...

Let me know if/when.

There's a series of pits i used to shoot in just past Anola and south on 302. I was thinking of checking it out today with another guy from work to see if the site was still accessible since it's probably 15 years since I've been there.

We used to toss clay birdies on the pit walls and have at it. fun and no cleanup

I modded the fork caps on my GL1500 Goldwing, installing schrader valves... made 'em much easier to reinstall, and to replenish the fork oil too.

On my 1200 Goldwing, when I want more (or less) air, I just push a button....

On the 1500s, back shock only is button/compressor adjustable. Don't know why they didn't do the front forks too

Ah, that 'splains everything.

We had a decent day of it. My friend brought out his Russian SVT-40 - I had no idea that the Russians had fielded a semi auto battle rifle before the war. Neat bit of history. He thinks this one served in Stalingrad. My Sharps suffered a misfire that has left it with a bullet lodged in the bore. Going to have a wee set-to with a steel rod and hammer shortly.

I'm glad I didn't try reconnoitering the place on my bike this summer. It's more sand than gravel in there, though the road in is deffo more ADV than car friendly

Sorry for the rather unbikelike post
