One hint for letters, if I remember my technical writing course. Tell them exactly why you're writing in the first section, then develop the topic in the next, then conclude, reiterating your point/what you want.

This overcomes tl:dr problems and gets your point across much more cleanly. Do not use the passive voice either.

Something like...

Mr Katz

Motorcycle riders in Winnipeg do not have the same parking privileges as scooter riders. Additionally, parking vouchers are often stolen from our bikes, leading to unfair ticketing and towing.

Develop here. present ideas etc etc etc...

In conclusion I know you will agree that encouraging motorcyclists through initiatives such as sidewalk or free parking not only reduces traffic and parking lot congestion, but is sound environmental policy etc etc etc..

I might suggest attending a CMMG meeting and bringing it up with the executive. They advocate for all of us in regards to autopac rates. Maybe this might be up their alley as well...

(from email) "The next meeting will be Wednesday, January 9th, 7pm lower level of the Marion Hotel, Winnipeg."

parking

Bikes shoud be free. Wide sidwalks, go and park along the wall or fence.( did a couple of times, no ticket)
I always liked the painted areas on the road in great britain (in other countries too). They are free and everywhere. Canada is stll in the commonwealth, let's do it the same way. At the forks i park close to tree, wall, patio,......

Oh, let's see what happens!!! I am sure the City will come up with a response, eventually.

Any revenue generating proposals will be looked at.... Anything remotely in favour of the motorcyclist will surely be put down.

Sounds like an excellent plan! Tough to make those weekday lunches at Kings Head, but we should be able to swing a Sunday one.

Yes, indeed, congratulations are in order - but I, for one, want more details...What kind of bike is likely to be this 1st grand-kid's preference?

I will try to be there but cannot promise just yet.

As for first bike. It will probably be pink and electric. From there who really knows.

KLR650 - ThermoBob

With Xmas coming, Mrs GWN asked what I wanted for Xmas - I suggested a ThermoBob to complement the 685 kit. She said order it... so I did. Was wondering how many local KLR riders have got one installed?
