Getting your leg sucked in by the rear wheel(meat saw ) of the bike ahead of you in a corner would not be fun. It happened with the TBay ice racers quite a few years back. Studded tire removed a bit of they riders leg. Inside of the rear fender was red/ skin colored. Another day at the races. It's all about power and traction. A tight track will be about tires in the corners, a big oval will be about motor on the straights. All very cool none the less.

Hmmm I did a Yellowstone trip on my KLR and never did any mods outside of some additional seat padding.

Also, someone has stolen my nice 250 piece socket set from my garage so any work on the bike has come to a grinding stop
![]() I've lost the will to wrench.

the only mechanical things I did to mine were the tensioner(doohickey), blue loctited all the bolts, dialelectric grease on the connectors, took apart the suspension (front and rear) and put good synthetic grease in. Removed the sidestand switch as well.
Had to rebuild the rear shock once, but it was pretty easy.

I did the T mod after my bike stumbled in the rain on St. James bridge...I didn't like it.
