Big Twin
Whaaattt is that your piloting Skysailor? A Twin that size surely must need a co-pilot? Or at least a stewardess....
![]() C'mon, is that an 9 seater or does the luggage pod option cut it to six to keep the WnB accurate with the CofG? Either way tell me they make amphibs for it... Looks like fun though...and I'm just jealous. MFS |

Winter Ride...
You may recall I had left my RT in BC, back at the end of November.
I had a new tire put on it in Victoria BC, then got the ferry to Port Angeles WA on the 7th of Feb. Left Port Angeles the next morning at 0730. ![]() Hard to tell here, but that's black ice... ![]() Finally getting some warm stuff... ![]() Found some curves in Oregon... ![]() Day 2 Left Yachats around 0900, had great scenery through the redwoods, and packed it in for the day in Eureka California at sundown. ![]() Day 3 Wow, what a day! Got going around 8 AM, followed 101 on and away from the coast for a while then took #1 from 101 to Fort Bragg. Holy crap! I WATCH OUT FOR the moss in the middle of the lanes. Eek!. The curves just kept coming when I switched over to # 128 to get back on 101. (Minus the moss, but with gravel strewn about for interest’s sake!) What a ride! ![]() Went over the Golden Gate Bridge, tooled around downtown SF for a bit and pulled in for the night in Mountain View Ca. High today, 23C. Wow! Only glitches today were the front left turn signal bulb died, and my Sena mount broke. Day 4 Replaced turn signal bulb, left Mountain View at 0830 - in search of a new mount for my Sena Bluetooth. Got lucky at the third bike shop I tried and also picked up a new visor to replace the three year old plastic on my helmet. The new mount for the Sena is a beefed up version. (Finally! Been bitching at them for two years to improve the design..) Back on the road at 11. ![]() Holy crap! it just keeps getting better!! The Cabot Trail almost sucks in comparison to the ride south from Monterey on Highway #1 through Big Sur! Hundreds of kilometers of tight curves, cliffs, switchbacks and awesome vistas! ![]() ![]() So far I've been finding California drivers very accommodating of motorcyclists, usually moving over to the pull-offs when I get behind them. ![]() I stopped for the night around San Simeon... and only now does the road start to pull away from the coast and become less technical. What a day. Elephant seals, no they're not dead... and they're much larger than these pictures convey. ![]() ![]() ![]() Day 5, ran through Los Angeles as quickly as I could, no pics worth posting. However, further east I came across these motorcycles... ![]() ![]() ![]() Day 6 was spent in Beaumont as a laundry day ;-) where I met Bob (just back from 30 years in Australia) and a traveling mate. ![]() Had a fine supper, I think... ![]() Day 7... Somehow ended up on this road riding by a bunch of police guarding the entrance to a burned out cabin. You may have read or seen something in the news... ![]() Avesome road, but recent snow and split-pea sized sand on every corner slowed the pace... ![]() Took a ride by the Salton Sea, which is 25% saltier than the oceans... ![]() Eventually came to the Imperial Valley, which was pretty impressive... ![]() ![]() Spent the night near Yuma AZ, then rode on to visit friends in Ahwatukee. (Suburb of Phoenix.) I've been sightseeing (via car) since then and even went to a museum, where I found this old bird. I worked on the civilian turbine model for several years, so it was a nice trip down memory lane. ![]() Anyway, have a couple of issues to sort out on the bike and will probably be moving on by the weekend, possibly Mexico, possibly Texas panhandle. Cheers, Brian

Has anyone looked at the Sask. Insurance thread.... Boy are they going to have fun.... All the letters, protest rides, lawyers bills... I hope they read some of the Manitoba shit that went on, it might help them get over it quicker.
How do you spell Monopoly? MPI... SGI..

No BBQ that day. ![]() ![]() And a couple more in Imperial Valley, just 'cause they're so different... ![]() In this next one, that isn't snow on the edge of the desert. Folks come out and park their RVs in the desert then go and ride quads, bikes or whatever else won't get stuck in the sand. Hundreds of sq miles of the stuff, you if you want quiet, you've got it. ![]() Cheers, Brian

Pulled over to fill my thermos mug at one point, and almost lost it when I put my feet down. Was as slippery as a curling rink with thye same marbelized texture on the pavement. Not recommended riding.

I've actually taken it really easy this ride with plenty of rose smelling. Sometimes starting as late as nine and stopping as early as three. Oh, yeah, then there are "Laundry Days" when I haven't ridden at all. ![]() Cheers, Brian

The wife is still bugging me, 'cause we didn't spend another night in Yachats last time we were there, Brian!
