a make-up ride from Graysville

Just in case there are folks out there who do not have a big long-weekend planned, StrommerGirl has agreed to take anyone who wants to join her out on the gravel road ride that BDayBoy Carl had plotted out for us last weekend.

Brian and I will be joining her, and are hoping that and some other will join us too...

Brian and I will be departing from the Esso at Oak Bluff (McGillivray Blvd on west side of the Perimeter) at 9:30 if anyone wants to meet up in Winnipeg and ride out there together...We will be meeting up with Deborah at her home in Graysville at 11 am.

Please chime in if you are interested in joining for what Deb promises to be a great ride...

Sunday

I`ll be there. Went for a little spin today and ended up in Saskatchewan. Just looking around, crops, water, wildlife. Tomorrow should be a good day also.

I could use a hat like that!

Man, I could use a hat like that... am not overly self conscious of becoming follically (is that even a word?) challenged, but that hat's an easy fix

No one has posted pix of the antique mc rally at Niverville!? ...OK, I will. Was amazed to see not one but two Vincents on show! Nice collection of assorted brands. Am sure I missed a few, but hard getting clean shots amongst the crowd.

Lots of bikes on the street:

One of the aforementioned Vincents:

The Brit row:

The other Vincent - how nice!

representing Italy:

And my personal fave (saw one FS on AB Kijiji a while back - guy wanted $10K, seriously):

...and visitor parking from the other end:

...and across the street:

Not a huge fan of trikes, but when it's in my favourite Gold Wing colour teal:

That's it.

I was there a little earlier - guess I had gone by the time GWN arrived and missed the photo op!

Gah. Transferred plate to Goldwing yesterday and got it all polished up.

a lovely day for a ride...

I put on just over 400 kms yesterday, half of which was spent touring the Pembina Valley with Stubblejumper and Strommergirl, largely on pavement due to recent, and reportedly erratic, grading of many of the gravel roads in the area. We did take a brief scramble down a gravel road to do a ride-by of Rock Lake, but that was it for gravel.

Nonetheless, it was a picture-perfect Manitoba summer's day ride, and lunch in Ninette gave us an opportunity to talk about our respective summer riding plans. Unfortunately, I did not think to take any pictures, despite having my camera with me.

Thanks to Charlie, and to Deborah, for riding with me...I needed that...

Found a really neat fire road on the DR yesterday. Must plan a longer day out there. Scared of getting too lost. Must drop bread crumbs so I can find my way home. Must have someone with DR experience take it for a spin to see if the "Briggs and Straton" sound it makes under acceleration is normal or not. Probably is. Can't remember if my 441 sounded like that or not?
