Neepawa Ride April 17-19

I have got us permission to ride in the Langford Community Pasture which is 22,000 acres of sandhills lands located SE of Neepawa. The pasture is owned by the federal gov't and managed by Ag. Canada which makes it crown land.It is used as a community cattle and horse pasture from MAy 1-end of October but for the weekend of April 17,18 & 19 we get it. The area is sandhills with numerous 2 track roads and cowtrials and plenty of wide open space, some parts are extremely rugged with creeks and marshes. We should tread lightly in pristine areas, however if the cattle have been there it is open to riding Bob Muntz style. For big bikes the grass lands are very stable and you should be able to get around most areas without have to ride through sand washes. The pasture entrance is marked with a sign and located east off of Hwy.#5 south of Neepawa or north of Carberry/#1hwy. Exact location to follow. I would suggest we organize the ride for Saturday which would allow anyone stay/return or come up for Sunday as well. I should have handout maps for everyone by then or if somebody wants to go there before that weekend and GPS the area let me know and I will point the way. Meeting place details to follow. Although I am organizing the start on Saturday, riders are welcome to come and go anytime those days.
All are welcome Post or PM with any questions.
P.S. Damn sand gets into everything!!!

Looks good Worm, but I dunno, that's a looong way from Winnipeg.
Best I ever did was Sault Ste Marie to the 'Peg in one shot.
Kidding aside, it looks sweet. I'm in, as long as I can work it out for an overnighter. Any place to pitch a tent and leave the saddlebags during the day?

Backroader... Looks like I might hold off on installing the Shinko 705s if this trip comes to pass.

I am leaving my street tires on until April 25 or 26th then probably install Shincos or Distanzia's. Got week to decide.

Will put my Karoos on in late August in time for the Northern Ontario rally and the run to Elie MN to do the Eco Trail.

Got a plan... so far. Let's see how it goes

Jeebers! "leaving my street tires on" then putting on "Distanzias".
WTF! Those are street tires as far as I'm concerned. (I love 'em; they're great in the rain and last forever!) What are you running for "Street" tires?
Slicks?

Cheers, B

Bridgestone Battlewings..... might as well be slicks, only good on hard packed gravel roads and the slab....

Borrowing my official red EAGLEMIKE wrench will be far easier

Hey Greg, do you think it would fit? That would be a fun project when the 4 banger gets bagged out.

That would be great, I was going to make the tool but as I will most likely only ever use it once borrowing one does seem to make more sense, My contact info is on the new list if you could contact me and we can make the arraignments

Wow - nice work, Worm!!

I'm definitely interested, I'll have to check my calendar before I can commit, though. Is it allowed/planned to camp onsite?

Neepawa camping

There is a nice serviced campground in Neepawa or I can arrange access to allow primative camping on the lake a family member owns a few miles south of the pasture.
Does anyone that rode to the lake last year have any pictures of the area.
