Piffle & JimToe as well as OFAP did some behind the scenes tech support and footwork on this matter, and although things didn't happen as fast and smoothly as desired, we didn't dismantle Backroaders Sherpa and send the parts off of it.
Hopefully the sleeve is done well & exact, the reassembly should be easy.
Glad you guys are getting it sorted out. Am amazed by things in S.A. You are in Chile? Did you ride thru Antofagasta on the coast by chance? Backroader shared the link to Rosie's blog so will work my way back to catch up on what's happening with you guys.

Hi Bob, nice to see you on the forum. The way Winnipeg's weather is going the first ride might be the April Antique Motorcycle Club meeting. Sent you a PM.

Les, trouble coping?

Must admit the other day I finally felt like that... grey & cold. Looking forward to warm & green. Wouldn't be so bad if temps weren't below seasonal.

A little follow-up to an earlier post. I got those "DirtRacks" in for my KLR. The one unfortunately had an unfinished weld on one mount... I sent it back (he said he'd cover postage - great customer service!). I liked what I saw so much I ordered a 2nd set (he gave me a good deal and combined shipping). If you can prep & paint, these are great value:

I did email back and forth a bit with dirtracks. They have Gen 1 crash bars now - just added to the web site yesterday. Think I will order a set a little closer to spring (if it ever gets close).

I was out in the garage on the weekend and did some work on the CL175. It now has a working center stand after I de-bent it on the hydraulic press. Now to do the same to the footpeg mount.

Gotta share progress pics. I'm sure they'd be appreciated by most... beats staring at the snow - won't go away any faster

Les, I had a look at those crashbars on their website (here they are BTW: http://www.dirtracks.com/1987-2007-K...h-bar-0028.htm ) A bit cheaper than, and similar to SW Motech bars, but different mounting setup at the back - would like to see that in closer detail (not sure what I'm see there) - looks like it's only secured on 1 side!?.

Woohoo!

All is well!
(I think...)

Mail and Purolator showed up at the same time; and Beemer final drive and KLR piston both are in my hands!
Woohoo!

You're right. Can't adjust the idle screw with my little screwdriver when its hot. Oh well, I'll have to just ignore it.
