hunting for a better window for the wee...maybe givi airflow or laminar lip added to the stocker. Thrifty guy will probably try the lip...I like it on the klr.

Aftermarket exhaust

Yes, they're pricey, but lighter and usually (much) better sound. Not to mention less backpressure/resistance and more flow can often (not always) give a small hp/torque boost. You certainly see that on that Dyno chart Mark posted!

Life is short... and if an aftermarket exhaust turns your crank, and you can afford it, why not!? It's a feel good thing too. I like customizing/personalizing a mc... for me - not doing it to impress or please anyone else. Kind of fun to play around with this stuff. Spent yesterday & today overhauling the brakes on the bikes. Had never disassembled mc brake calipers completely before - interesting!

Last summer's pictures

Charlie sent me a few pics from last summers ride with us three Amigos, Carl, Dave, Charlie. The day was special because when we got back to my house, there was the whole ADV crew waiting to celebrate my 50th Birthday! I had not seen these pics before, so I thought I would share them. Here we are checking to see if the road is "really closed"...it was!

We got deep into the shale on the Old Roseisle Railway bed. We had the KLR's going thorugh some creek crossings. Charlie told both Dave and Me to keep up our speed in the shale bed...but I guess we did not keep the speed up enough...Charlie was taking our picture after he got through the soft stuff...he was not stuck!

Last water crossing before we headed out of the Valley, looking forward to more off road riding this summer! Thanks for the pictures Charlie, and it was nice to get a reminder of my special day!

Checked out ice ride today, had a great time and enjoyed the 3 laps ride. Thanks to Mark and his son for letting me ride his yamaha 250.

Close up on the tires, I have to say I don't trust those thing at the beginning, once you realize how good the traction is, you can open the throttle a little bit more.

Here is one when Mark is in action.

That was a great ride. Will definitely have to ride that area again this year.
The party after was fun too.
