TRich, good to hear that you have that 705cc machine on the road.
Stafford County is a very under tagged area.

Sorry I missed this post. I am breaking in my 705 kit with headwork on a 2008 KLR. Well actually I am done breaking it in now, and just enjoying the ride.

Sweet, I'll be interested to hear how the performance is after you can open it up. When I've got all my luggage and camping gear on, sometimes I'd like a little extra umph.

Sunday Morning Ride?

Anyone interested in riding Sunday morning? I'm good for about 4 hours. I'm looking to do mostly on-road riding at a "reasonable" pace with maybe a little gravel thrown in, although I take the gravel pretty darn slow.

Donny - I finished the break in last night. It's much better than stock with power delivery and vibration reductions.

I'll be able to give a better rundown after the weekend hopefully. When I'll get to take the bike out for a ride with the luggage on. So far I am impressed to say the least.

I might depending on 2 things

1) What do you call 'morning'?
2) No unpaved road for me.

I'd be ok with that, but I was leaving the option of some gravel open to make the ride more appealing to the DS guys.

Can't give an answer yet, but will consider. Thanks for trying to organize.
We do need group type riding action with the NoVa taggers.

Ok, before tomorrow comes around and we all get too busy enjoying the 4th, how's it looking for Sunday morning? Mica, Elkhound, you in? Anyone else?

I'm a maybe for Sunday... Depends on how late I stay up and watch the fireworks.
Went to Congressional and watched Tiger play today. What a blast!
If I'm not golfing on Sunday, I'd be up for a ride.

I'm still undecided but the ride might get more takers if riders have an idea
on the route. Maybe less takers too, who knows?

Here is a possible route fragment that I've been wanting to ride but
haven't so far.

Meet at a generally central location (aldie mill maybe) ride up 671 Harper's Ferry Rd, then north into MD along the river past antietam and crossing into WV on 34 at sheppardstown. Then start heading back.

Been interested in 671 since TheTable put the nova tag up there a couple of weeks ago.

This particular route may be too long for the time available. Also, I'd rather start earlier than later to avoid traffic.
