![]() If I did this right, there might be a photo of Bearshark when we pulled off the road to take his 50,000 mile photo. Regards, Chuck |

To the End of the Road
My recent rides have been out to our coasts, these tend to wild windswept places inhabitited by rugged farmers and woolly sheep. The North Island landscape is very different to our South Island, most famous of course for The Lord of The Rings and soon The Hobbit. I gather this forum is supposed to be mainly of bikes so will limit to just a few without the bike.
![]() Road tryes on loose gravel certainly improves rider skills. I had not ridden on gravel for something like 40years so extremely rusty. Confidence will come as more hours spent on the loose stuff. I know the Monster is not your usual ride for unpaved roads but then I have never been a conformist. ![]() This part of the South East Wairarapa coast looking out to the Pacific Ocean on a good day in early Spring. ![]() Looking back the way we came. There is only about 25km or so of the gravel section so not difficult to negoiate. The End of this road was 166km from home so a good day's ride, the sealed section are just gorgeous. Little traffic so able to blast along the windy bits where the Duc' excells. This one is the smallest of the Monsters, only 400cc but fuel injected. Would love to get a Multistrada though. ![]() Looking South East towards the coastal mountain range. Rode onto the grassed area and immediately lost traction as still very wet and soft from the winter rains. Will download photo's from last weekend ride to our South coast near the countries capital Wellington. And as you can see I figured out how to get the sizing right. Hope you enjoy these.
