Nice report and pics, you guys sure know how to do it right. Super epic!!! The great thing is, Wachs is out there too, so we get another epic report next week! Can never get enough of the Giant Loop reports, thanks.

The internet weather report is telling us around noon the weather will be breaking and warming up. I believe everything I read on the web.

KMA and I take a second soak in the pond. Noon comes and goes and we finally decide that we HAVE to start heading west regardless of the weather. We have gotten reports that not too far west it was dry. We don our "raingear" and every piece of clothing we carried and head out.

Did I mention that packing the bike in the rain sucks? Well it does. But having on all the clothing you packed expedites the process.

KMA says that he's gonna stop in Burns for some more warm/dry clothing, mainly gloves. I tell him I'm gonna press on and not stop but when we get into Burns I see that the Big R is actually on the way so I stop in too.

Do you have these in...black?

KMA buys $30 of worthless crap, I get some stylish orange rubber gloves and we're off again with a stop 25 miles down the road at Riley for warmth and food. KMA adds some fuel. We part ways here as my vehicle and trailer are in Christmas Valley. About 180 miles of slabbage for KMA, poor bastard.

Next stop for me, Wagontire... this rig was out front when I pulled up. Belongs to MOPAR who is paying a guy and his woman to drive it from the Mexican border to Canada mostly off-road and then write a 4 part article for 4-Wheeler Magazine. Lucky bastige. They were gonna head north on the OBDR and had stayed the night before at the Hart Mtn. hot springs where it had SNOWED! First day of summer! Yay!

Cheryl and her husband have revived the Wagontire Cafe and have gas again. They are in the process of re-vamping the motel as well. PLEASE stop in and give them your business if you're in the area!

I wolf down a cheeseburger and fries (yummy) and add a gallon and a half to the BRP. At this point the sun is out and I'm ready to head into the dirt again. I cannot fathom the thought of more slabbage. F- that.

Not 20 minutes into the dirt I run into this motley crew...

Yep, it's Wachs' crew heading east. Originally I was supposed to head out with them but time/money were not playing nicely. I've ridden this particular dirt section several times but BONUS now I have 6 sets of dirt bike tire tracks to follow back to Christmas Valley!

We say our good-byes and I warn them about all the water and weather they're about to hit. They say they are pushing for Hart Mtn. (and it's about 4:30 already) and are going to stop at Wagontire for gas and a burger. Adios guys, have fun!

I lose their tracks here and call the wife to let her know where I am. I shed a layer too, getting hot. I actually had cell service here!

Back on track after a 180 I head to the Lost Forest and out into the sand dunes for a couple pics...

I pull into CV at 7pm, load the bike and change into some normal clothes. I call KMA to see if he made it home okay and taunt him with the details of my dirt ride, knowing that he didn't get any today. The light is perfect so I pull over at Fort Rock and get a few shots...

Great ride with great dudes. The only casualty of the ride for me was a lost side plastic bolt and a broken fender support. We slammed some stuff hard out there fully loaded...

Thanks for coming along!

And I was just texting N2Moto who is on his way back from the Alvord. Wox and his crew spent some time with him wrenching on one of those pesky orange bikes. N2 should have some great pics coming... stay tuned.

Yes, 153 miles of cold cold wet slabbage back to Bend for LeisureClub and I. Only bonus was home by noon and a huge breakfast at Brothers.
This was the look Bacon gave LeisureClub and I when we told him we were slabbing it back to Bend in the 40 Deg rain, without raingear.

Warming it up at Riley store.

Two cold and wet albiet cleaner DS machines.

We must have looked really really miserable because as we got to Hampton there was a F250 with a horse trailer and two cowgirls who let us warm up in the back seat of their truck. The were meeting a friend from Burns halfway for something. THANKS GIRLS!!
It dried up pretty nicely after Hampton and all that was left to complain about was the temperature and al lthe slab that lay ahead.
Greg. After breakfast in Brothers.

This was a great ride with great company, and many many laughs were had by all. Thanks guys!!

Sold by Giant Loop Moto and invented by Dave Wachs himself, another benddualsport.com dude. Follow the link on Brad's signature line.

Woodschick, you need to sign up at BDS so you can get the 411 on all these rides (and other cool stuff!).

Sounds like a great ride, even if it didn't finish up quite according to plan!
