Logan Pass is closed, from the East you can ride in 13 miles and the West side you can ride in 30 miles.
We did the little jaunt into the park then headed South on 89 towards Kiowa here you can pick up 49 into East Glacier Park another one of those must ride roads. ![]() There are some gravel sections were the road is being repaired but it is mostly paved. ![]() We spend the night at the Sears motel, get some Grizzly Gas some Espresso's from the cafe across the street and we are off to West Glacier. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Weeping Wall ![]()

We took the Cama road up to the 486, this gravel road runs all the way up to Canada or you can loop back down to Hungry Horse.
![]() ![]() We spend the night in Eureka then head out for Idaho looking to cross the Purcell Mountain Range on some Forest Service roads that are shown on the GPS. We take the 37 out of Eureka and head for Yaak. We cross the Koocanusa River and head into some awesome twisties through the mountains. ![]() ![]() We finally find the NF-435 road we were looking for, it is raining but it looks passable. ![]() As we proceed the road gets slicker and the rain gets stronger. ![]() ![]() We keep climbing, the temperature keeps dropping and the road gets worse. It is actually snowing as we reach the top of the pass ![]() ![]() I am very happy with the Anakee tires even in this mess they keep the bike moving forward. ![]() I guess this is what passes for summer in Montana, (It is the 22 of June and the rest of the US is in some kind of heat wave) but we are having a ball. Wrestling the big GS two up with luggage definitely keeps me warm. ![]() We make it over the pass into Idaho out of the mud and back onto some nice gravel. ![]() From snow to daisies the GS likes it all. ![]() Still ticking ![]() Back into Canada ![]() Off to Christina Lake today

In the woods somewhere in Washington trying to find a way to highway 20.
![]() There just has to be a way to get there from here. ![]() We finally get back on 20 and head west we are just about a mile from republic where I was going to fill up with gas and shit we are out of gas. My GF who is a marathon runner says she will run the mile to the gas station get gas and run back. I tell her lets just wait I am sure someone will stop and give me a ride. Sure enough within 10 minutes the local police happened by saw us sitting on the side of the road and asked if we needed help. We told him we were just out of gas so he offered to give us a ride to the station and sort some gas for us. My GF rode into town and a very nice couple at the pumps offered to bring us gas in a spare can they had in their truck. You meet some extremely nice people out on the road. Not only would they not except money for the gas they offered us a place to stay for the night. ![]() Full of gas and headed back down the road. Thanks guys. ![]() More to come as soon as I can get to a place to load some more pictures.

Highway 20 rocks lots of turns and great scenery.
![]() ![]() ![]() We pull into the town of Winthrop for a bite to eat. ![]() We park beside some other bikes and head across the street to a small cafe. The owners of the two bikes are sitting next to us in the cafe so we strike up a conversation and find out that they are ADV people. They offer to show us some of the local sights and give us some info for a great dirt road up to Harts Pass. Our new found friends. After they showed us a cool waterfall outside of town we gas up and head for the pass. ![]() We cruise through Mazama to the FS road that leads up to Harts Pass and back on the dirt. ![]() ![]() This turns out to be a spectacular ride all the way to the summit. ![]() ![]() As we near the top the trees start to thin out and we start seeing snow again and the temp drops a bunch. ![]() ![]() For everybody down south suffering in the heat this is one way to cool off. ![]() ![]() ![]() After a few hours of wandering around in the forest we head back to 20 West towards Mt. Baker. ![]() ![]() ![]() It is raining/sleeting on Mt. Baker so we don our rain gear and head for the summit. ![]() We head down a side road to check out Nooksack Falls. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ski lift at the top of Mt. Baker. ![]() It is a bit chilly up here. ![]() After a fabulous afternoon on Mt. Baker we head back up into Canada to spend some times with friends in Vancouver and do a little maintenance on the bike. Hit the Canadian MoFo for oil and filters and rest up for a few days then off to Whistler and Bella Coola then ferry over to Vancouver Island for a few days. Will be back in a few days with more of our trip.
