Thunderhart and I went and rode about 30 miles of single/double track today. Good times, although, at some point Thunderhart lost one of his side panels. I'll try and post some video later.

Edit: Video from the ride, It's a little long.

Ok, got going a bit after 5:00 to beat the heat in the Delta. Grabbed the rest of my Delta Blues Markers. Here are a few shots along the way. 388 miles with a lunch break and back home by 2:30.

Somewhere near Winona

I started to ride under this one but didn't know if there were chemicals in there. Don't want to turn into Swamp Thing.

Going to have to stay here one day.

I won't bore you with all but this is one of several rumored RJ grave sites.

Abe's BBQ in Clarksdale for a rest and lunch.

I decided to ride to BNF today on the Husky. A quick lunch at Round Back BBQ.

Then off to explore some new trails.

I mostly hit dead ends but there are a couple of areas I want to go back to with someone else with me. I did find one through trail (it's the one in the photo above) that was pretty fun.

Great. I've also received a couple of PM's from people who want to ride during the week. Maybe we need to schedule a ride.

When I get a chance to ride during the week, it's usually a spur of the moment decision. I usually don't have time to call anyone but I will try to be better about it in the future.

My work schedule is pretty slow this time of year. I can usually get free on a Tues or Weds. Put me on the call list

I had done 2 or 3 local day rides the past few months, but this weekend was my first good ride since the get off last July. I rode to B'ham to see a friend. We rode to Sipsey Wilderness, cooled off in a swimming hole and did the Barber museum during the days. After dark we peddled bikes to the local breweries downtown. Also I piloted a 1200gs sidecar rig!

Took a ride with my wife through NC, TN and SC this weekend. Just a quick up and back but was fun.

Met 2 ADV members from Chattanooga and rode on Parson's Branch. Didn't get and names, nice folks though.

Found this little lady after rounding a curve. She stood her ground so we knew she had cubs.

Here is one, there were two but the other didn't come out till my camera was put up.

Not many pictures, it rained on us hard and long and we didn't get much of a chance to take pictures.

Had a day to ride today. I went east with only a loose destination in mind, but thought I'd try going a little further south to get there by as much gravel as possible. Found some excellent gravel roads in the process .

Some spots were slick on a 600 lb bike

Ended up on Goodwater road north of Tuscaloosa. Damn fine little twisty bit of pavement, as Switch and UncleJimmy know .

Blue Creek Park on the Black Warrior River

One of the best rides I've had in a while. Every road I turned down seemed like a good one. Fortunately I saved the GPS track.

Put some K60's on that Tenere and don't worry about slick spots anymore unless its four wheeler type mud. I am at 7k miles on a rear with still good tread plus they survived the Arkansas trip and Utah trip.

I haven't been out much in the last few month's due to a painful left knee. I've been exercising the knee trying to postpone/avoid surgery for the last 2 months. Finally got to where I could walk for a mile or so without too much pain. Unfortunately, the riding position on my bike also caused pain so I have only gone on a few short rides this month to test the knee out. None were fun until today.

I took backroads and the Trace to Natchez - 2.5 hours when the direct route is a little over an hour. I decided to explore some of the roads in the Church Hill area (west of Church Hill). I went by the Natchez airport and got a little lost. After doing miles of gravel on Annas Bottom and Anna Rds, I finally hit a paved road that I figured would hit Church Hill Road. It did, but unfortunately within site of Church Hill Rd a bridge was out. I turned the GPS on and back tracked a few miles to Woods Rd - a couple more miles of gravel and sweet pavement.

Only took me 3 hrs to get back home, but I survived quite nicely.

Abandoned bridge on Annas Bottom or Anna Rd.

My Obama retirement home.

Church Hill - familar territory.

Now for the yard work I promised to do this afternoon.
