Moto-traveler europe tour May 2012

12 May 2012 Greece/Thessaloniki-Fyrom-Serbia (Belgrade)

12 May and our adventure start from Thessaloniki. We start very early in the morning during 6:15 from Thessaloniki to the border of Evzonon. The weather wasn't showed good signs and did not take long to visit us in a little rain.We had no desire to continue with such weather conditions our journey.

Border Evzonoi.Passing by the Greek side to side of Skopje.

The control we did, we asked the identities and the green card, nothing more, nothing less and.I had contacted all the Embassy and the Consulate of Greece in Skopje and the information I had was that we could cross the border only with a new type identities in latin characters

Log in Skopje.

The road of Skopje was not so good, thousands of patches everywere .

We pass 4 toll plazas and all we paid from 1 euro each.

Border of Skopje and Serbia

Once we have moved from Serbia to Skopje, we feel that we get a little more European country. To roads were somewhat better.
Stop at the toll Doljevac for some water and relaxing.

Along with Miljan from Montenegro where we met several times at stops that we made for supply. He was driving a Goldwing and he was going just outside Belgrade in a meeting bikers to drink beer and bake'' Ham & Lam'' as he said.

Approximately 15:30, we arrived in Belgrade.

Just before the entrance to the city of Belgrade, we paid the last toll .Cost: 2 euros.

Just before the Hyatt Regency Belgrade.

Our room was perfect..

Once settled we went a little walk to the center of town that was nearby.

After finishing the walk, we went back to the hotel for rest.

Overall it was a very good day. The border crossings were trouble-free stations, generally I can not say that we had something nasty in terms of driving. The few things that bothered me was not so good asphalt roads of Skopje and in some parts of Serbia.
On the economic now, we pay in euro by card, (maestro), refueling stations.

13 May 2012 Belgrade sightseeing

13 May 2012 Belgrade sightseeing

Today the day started with some rain.

Having no choice we decided to sit at the hotel to get some rest.

The truth is that our current program was a day trip to Novi Sad, but after the rains we cancel our plan.

At the hotel terrace.

The V-Strom was locked and wet ....

Once the rain stopped, we decide to go for a walk in the city center of Belgrade.

We started from the Kalemegdan fortress.A park located near Stari Grad near downtown. It stands on a hilltop Šumadija, height 125.5 meters, the confluence of the Danube and Sava. The fort is the heart and oldest part of the city of Belgrade for centuries, the city's population lived within the walls of the fort, which makes it is totally intertwined with the history of the city

15 May 2012 - Day tour to Lake Bled-Vrsic Pass-Kranjska Gora

We woke up early in the morning and the weather was very clear.Aafter we enjoyed our breakfast, prepared for our day tour. The destination was Lake Bled and Julian Alps on route passing the Vršič Pass and Kranjska Gora

Arriving in Bled, we went to see Vlejski Grad . located over the cliff, 139m. above the lake.

Chain to tie our helmets

The view from the castle is amazing.

Leaving Bled, we wanted to go to the Vršič Pass but somewhere we lost the road and we were in Lake Vohinj in the heart of National Park Triglav.

Awesome ride through waterfalls, streams and green forests

After the lake Bohinj, drove in 909 to go to Tolmin

The Julian Alps are amazing and the country is so "compressed" in size, beauty, and imagine.

Generally, Slovenes are very hospitable people and love motorcyclists

Short stop for refreshment in Most na Soči

We began the ascent to Kranjska Gora

and the passage of Vršič Pass

Going across the river Soča , which alternated colors from emerald green to deep

Jealous running water and went to cool a bit, because the day was warm

Reaching the top of Vršič, in 1611 m.
Inhospitable desert and alpine scenery.

In the below photo you can see why in Greece they say that the madness goes on mountains.
A girl climbed the mountain with only her dog companion.
1 like to the girl.

We began the descent

After we finished the amazing day tour in Julian Alps ,we return back to the hotel and then we went for a little walk in the beautiful city center of Ljoubljana.

On the beautiful Butchers' Bridge, which you can lock a wish.

In the alleys of the city attracted our attention a wonderful shop with bags in various colors and designs.

We sat down for coffee in Preseren Square, the central square of Ljoubljana.

Finishing the ride, we passed by the Dragon Bridge, which we had parked legally in a parking lot for motorcycles.

Some game photo.

16 May 2012 SLO to IT (Lago di Garda)

16 May 2012 SLO to IT (Lago di Garda)
We wake up in the morning and what else to see?
Rain.A lot of rain again......
We weare our raincoats and start from Ljubljana to Sezana borders in Italy

We stop somewhere in the A-4. I can say that the first time we faced such weathersituation.Very strong wind with heavy rain and a lot of trucks to autostrada to be ready to eat you.I have to admit that was one of the most dangerous driving I have done until now.We didn't have a lot of time to stop because we had to cover a distance of approximately 440 km to the Riva del Garda.

In the photo below, shows the clouds from where we came.

Finally sun.

Once we dry we started to Lago di Garda.

Even here had made their appearance some threatening clouds but happily escaped.

The Garda is one of the many beautiful lakes in Italy.

Very beautiful place, our way was amazing and the view very nice.

Once we arrived at the hotel we offered our clothes to dry and we went for a walk and lunch.

17 May 2012 Lago di Garda to Bormio

17 May 2012 Lago di Garda to Bormio
Departure from Riva del Garda to the destination via Bormio Gavia pass.

I chose to go from Dro-Sarche-Tione di Trento-Madonna di Campiglio and from there to Gavia pass, Bormio.
The route is perfect, unique images.

A brief stop for a little relaxation before the Passo Duron below that follows a serpentine path

The villages are springing up like mushrooms, they are all very quaint with very small narrow streets.

In Madonna di Campiglio in altitude 1553 m, we stopped for coffee. The weather was very good.
We were very well dressed with winter gloves and scarves as the temperature was about 10 ° C.

Just before we reach the Passo Del Tonale.

Passo del Tonale

Monument dedicated to the fallen of the first world war, close to Ponte di Legno,
between Camonica Valley, and Vermiglio Valley, Brescia province, Lombardy.

Once we started the descent a nasty surprise waiting for us.

The sign says it all alone tis.To Gavia pass is closed.

Automatically switches over our plan and necessarily go from Edolo - Teglio - Tirano.65 km above.
Map the first route : 173 km
Map compulsory route : 238 km

Short stop freshness.

Once settled in our hostel, we went out to eat.

We stayed at Chalet Stelle di Neve, a very beautiful and large apartment.

Eventually I decided to go for a ride along a magical journey that we made in 2011.
Something was pulling me to go to Stelvio Pass.I know that the pass was closed.
.

All this was a stupidity because at some point I realized that I'm going on a road that is closed and I am alone.
Τrenching and back.

Frapedaki and planning the next day.

Hotel: Chalet Stelle Di Neve
Price: 70 EUR / NIGHT (1 Night)

Talking 18 May 2012 Italy to Switzerland

After we failed to pass the Gavia and play with Stilfser Joch, for the second time, it's time to leave for Switzerland.
We decided to enter the Munt la Schera Tunnel , rather than St. Moritz.
We started from Bormio to Livigno via Foscagno Pass .

Climb as we felt the cold is more intense.
Why it seems to light ...

Fortunately for us, Foscagno Pass was open.

One more time the route was just perfect.

Just before the border of Livigno.

Select the Passo Gallo.

The Livigno is really very beautiful. There are some tax-free shops but we miss them because we passed at 08:00 and everything was close. To only good thing is that I put gasoline V-Power for 1.450 euro / l.

Back open looks around the tunnel Lago del Gall , when the dam was closed and the lake without water.

Approaching the Punt dal Gall Dam.

Somewhere here we leave Italy.

The price to cross the tunnel is 10.00 CHF - 9.00 EUR

At the exit of the tunnel began to show the borders of Switzerland.

The issue here is that there was no one to make us a border control,we enter Switzerland so simple.

Through beautiful and cold Flüelapass, which was open, we put in place for Davos.

As you ascend the snow began to thicken more.

A brief stop for photo.

With such beautiful pictures, emotions are very powerful, especially when you conquer such places.

Arriving in Davos.

We stop at a gas stationfor a coffee and we bought the Vignette at a price of 33.30 €.

Before Zurich,we began passing several beautiful villages.

We made a stop in Walensee for a "HOT DOG". We got the special price of 13 €. (6.50 €/1)Are you f*****ing joke?

Welcome to the Switzerland I said to my self.
Entrance into Zurich.

Park Hyatt Zurich.

Once we got settled,we ride in the center of Zurich.

Things are simple in Switzerland for men,,, Mazerati and Ducati Multistrada.

Our journey continues

19 May 2012 Day tour Zurich to Luzern

We went down to the parking to prepare our bike for a day trip to Lucerne. .

Chapel Bridge-Kapellbrücke

The main attraction of the city is the Chapel Bridge.
It is a wooden covered bridge is said to be the oldest wooden bridge in Europe. Constructed in the 14th century to protect the city.
Walking in you can see about 100 images of city life in the 12th century and pieces of Swiss history. The bridge was burned in August 1993 but rebuilt in a few months.

Jesuit Church-Jesuit Church

Church of St. Leodegar

On the way back to Zurich we met a tricycle chopper.

It was a realy nice day tour,we enjoy it very much.

22 May 2012 Day tour Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

Another rainy day ..
The Provence region (Provence) in southern France is a very blessed place.Combines French culture to Italian influenes.
The emblem of Provence is lavender that grows in abundance at an altitude of 600 meters in the mountainous terrain of the Luberon, of Vaucluse, Ventoux mountain and the slopes of the Alps of Haute-Provence (Haute Provence). We begin our adventure destination with Aix-en-Provence.

After we took a short walk to the city center of Aix-en-Provence, crossing the narrow alleys, we left for Avignon.

We start our walk from "Les Halles Market", the market closed Avignon, with its hanging garden.Very beautiful sight.

Palais des Papes.

Ending with Avignon, we start our journey to Gordes. On the way we found some small museums such as the oil museum ,the glass museum and the museum Lavender.

The picturesque village Gordes.
Reaching Gordes will appear in front of you suddenly, at a bend in the road, and will amaze you with its castle - fortress located on top and around the houses clinging, on a rock, surrounded by terraces with cypresses , olive and pistachio trees. It is one of the most famous villages in the Vaucluse, with spectacular views over the valley Cavalon.

East of Gordes, through vineyards and olive groves of the valley Coulon, go to the Roussillon.

Remember, weather ally confirmation.Balance blackness follows us throughout our journey.

After Rousssillon we drove from Apt-Cereste-Manosque and back to Trets.

It was a perfect day with amazing imagew and very beautifull villages.
