New Tag

Since this is the Appalachian Tag-O-Rama I went up on a mountain for the new tag.

There are only two natural freshwater lakes in Virginia. The tag is at one of these lakes and it's about 3000 feet up the mountain. There are two great paved roads and a several gravel forest roads going up the mountain. Lots of good riding in the area!

If it would be a new place to ride you could just take your time, take the long way, enjoy the ride. Snag some file pics on the way if you want. When you get there get the shot and then check to see if you got Bruced. In the mean time you've had a great ride in a new area. Who knows, you might meet some other folks going after it and find some new riding buds.

If you get Bruced please share that though. It's kinda fun for everybody that way.

My longest tag run was 950 miles. Bruced! It was a good ride to a place I hadn't been before. Didn't hurt too bad.

Now that's my kind of tag run. I'm watching various tags just to see where I might take a camping run for fun. When one of them hits a spot I like I hope to just take off. Most likely I'll get Bruced on it but maybe it'll be close by and I can get the next one.

When I set off to get the tag at Craggy Gardens I was sure I'd be Bruced. Amazingly I wasn't.

You never know. Sometimes a tag will sit for a long time and sometimes they get snapped up. I just got Bruced a few minutes ago for the VA tag. Ain't nothing to it! I like to have a destination to ride to. If I just go out for a ride I tend to ride the same area.

Good grab Jim. I didn't know if anyone was paying attention. There are a couple more tags in the area. You could get 4 today.

I'm not to good at leaving clues, so I just go with the photo shot. This is at the southern end of the park on a three number road adding up to 17.

I didn't look up the other tags, two were enough trouble finding new spots. Plus it got pretty hot in the afternoon. I was glad to get home, no Interstate riding, just a couple of big US highways and lots of back roads. Plus like you, no file photos, it did cross my mind for a moment, then I regained my senses.

Nice spot you put the tag in. Kinda pretty there too. I'm glad to see some movement on this tag.

I wonder what the record is for getting different tags in one day? I keep an eye on the East TN tag, the VA tag, the NC tag, and this one.

I placed the current East TN tag and this area just doesn't seem to have anyone willing to ride out and get it. That keeps me riding farther afield to get tags.
