    OK lemme try this again...

Post up your coordinates to the gravel road water crossings here in AR so it will be easier for someone to plan out a day, weekend or dual sport route with a little water fun. Put in some pictures if you got them.

I'll try to keep it updated as best I can.

Here's my first entries, two of them are pretty lame but still water.

    N35 35.366 W91 34.503 Dog Lick Cutoff

    N35 32.656 W91 33.898 Union Hill Road

    N36 02.250 W93 07.689 Little Buffalo River

Email the file to me and I will host it for you. Then all you have to do is post the link to the document.

You can upload gpx files in the GPS regional forums. That's where they belong...

Not sure what the problem is, but I just hit reply to this thread and "add attachments" and it listed .gpx as an option :dunno

This could one heck of a gpx file.
You should see the one I got for all the mines and caves I could find on the USGS topo maps. There is over a hundred on it. Theres lots more water crossings. :evil

I've been marking the ones that are deep enough to be labeled fjord on the maps. That been said, I don't use waypoint space for it. I've been making a custom map layer for the XOG and IFinders, it can be done for the Garmins too but its more involved process as Garmin doesn't play nice with custom maps and appears to only allow one map file from what I've read.
So the custom map has to be combined into your current map img. :huh

    First post has been updated.

It was an error on my end. The file I was trying to upload was a gdb file and not a gpx. I re-saved it as a gpx and all is right with the world.....OK lets have them.

Doc, I save them to my DeskTop and work them from there.

The mistake I made on that file was corrected by using the Save As, then being sure the Save File Type box read:

    GPS eXchangeFormat (*.gpx)

If you use Mozilla the icon that comes up on the desktop will have the FireFox symbol on it with the name you gave the file. As long as the file size is under the limit it should upload.

The .gdb file icon looks like a small world globe.

The only difference I've found with the .gdb and the .gpx files is that you have to click an drag the .gpx file into the left hand side bar of an opened Mapsource screen. The .gdb files will open Mapsource automatically.

.gdb is garmin data base file and proprietary to Garmins.
.gpx is actually an XML text file and is generic for use across multiple platforms.

You can edit the GPX with notepad and .gdb is gibberish in notepad.

But your right if its not a GPX file ADV will kick it out.

I just tried the Open With tab and it did for me also.

I've just been double clicking on it and a white screen would come up.

Learn something everyday I suppose. :beer
