Idahosam Heads Home

Well, aloha you all, I submitted my resignation last night and the VP took it pretty well all things considered; no bridges burned he even said he'd put the word out for me and would highly recommend me

OK some may be going right now and I can't blame you but my story starts over here

Idahosam goes Hawaiian

WARNING! there are about 60 pages and hundreds of pictures of me suffering though scantily clad women on beaches and tropical sunsets living on Oahu and the Big Island and etc,etc (starts at #87) you may loose important work time, you have been warned.

So now I am planning... confirmed booking the bike today on Pasha, still waiting for permission from the bank to let me take "Moya" the KTM off the island. I got a killer deal on the purchase of a ticket to San Diego $199 one way.

Well since I have a new bike I needed a new way of carrying my stuff so I stumbled on to a product made by one of our PNW brethren and I think he's going to make a killing with it... wish I'd have thought of it. Seems very well constructed and mounted and strapped perfectly about 30 seconds and came off even quicker, humm, better shut-up starting to sound like commercial. I'll report from time to time on how its holding up on the trip home.

no wind drag

Well my KLR is still sitting in Hilo, sorta pissed as I've advertised it for three (3) months on CL. I'm beginning to think CL is crap over here anyway. This last trip over to BI I had four folks wanting to see it so I sent them my PH# two responded make a link up time and they never showed one did call about two hours later and said he changed is mind. So, now what to do with Gumby the KLR???????????????????? I thought about shipping it San Diego too but then I'd need a rider to ride it home. Then I think I'll see if SouthWest Thumper will try to sell it for me.

OK five weeks and counting

Still contemplating a route back to Idaho from San Diego and a new ride report to go with it; any suggestions??

I have five weeks until departure I don't want to be in a hurry going home and no set itinerary. So Coast up or desert??? ideas?

Stay tuned

You're going to ride from Hawaii?

I bet you're happy to get back to ID.

Hawaii has been a wonderful experience... well at least the Big Island I heard Maui is pretty cool too, I was going to hit it but the powers to be (greenies) killed the super Ferry.

Yes there's no place like home.

Aloha,

Winding down the last days of Hawaii...

Saturday 3/27/10 amazing how much better I feel and that of my wife after pulling the trigger and submitting my resignation. Few projects to finish up but it Saturday.

She wanted me to accompany her on those Hawaiian chores this morning, so we walked down to the local beach (about 300 meters or so from the Apt)
yes I feel better now

I had my eyes closed thinking about packing and what route to take, etc, etc... when she says, Hey!! Startled I looked out, am I missing something

I don't see anything; big turtle??

She just wanted to tell me she's happy I'm coming home, I've not seen her smile like that in well over a year.

My retort... ME TOO!

YUP, I'm happy to be going home and I am one lucky happy guy right now.

Got back to the house and my phone had a missed call from Southeast US Thumper on the BI. I called him back and he said he found someone who wanted to adopt Gumby a little dialogue exchange agreements met and Gumby has retired to the Hawaii islands to a new family.

Today has been a GOOD STRESS FREE DAY

Just a little over 4 weeks to go

Outlaw, I'd need a really, really long snorkel to ride from the islands or maybe something along this line...

You are the ONLY guy I know laying on the beach with your own swimsuit model, dreaming of riding in the Owyhee's. You kill me!

It will be great having you back.

Does your wife have a twin sister by chance??? Never hurts to ask!!

NO,NO,NO, not just the Owyhees, South Mountain, Juniper Mountain, the Steens, Trout Mountains, shall I continue? The swimsuit model to which you refer is the reason I'm coming back Do you think I missed her. Matter of fact she's looking better now than 15 years ago:

Now I have to remember how to wear shoes again.

Well Southeast US Thumper sent me a couple shots of Gumby from Saturday

He snapped this one while I was talking to the guy working the deal

and a few minutes later.... there goes my trusted mule.

So I gave up Gumby for this

Think it was a fair trade off?

Lookin good Sam

I hope your route allows me to meet you somewhere for a cold one along the way. If not, sooner or later my friend... hopefully with a camp fire involved .
