Free mid 70's Yamaha XT200. Runs great, looks like crap, and is a blast!

My brother got this 93 Nighthawk for $1300. Great first bike!

My 82 Yamaha 650 Turbo I got for $1500 with only 8600 miles on it!

85 xr600r not a street bike but hey, it was 900 bucks. ugly, beat, ran like ass, crashed, flipped, thrown down hills, raced, crashed some more, beat up and down all over the place. I loved that bike. I never could figure out the carbs but I think I had more fun on that bike than any other I have owned.

The local grocery store stuck a bunch of crates where the bikes always parked so just slammed into them and parked on top of them. A friend crashed it. I whored it out constantly. Won a supermoto championship on it, had to drag it up a hill with a truck one time(oops). Found out I love doing donuts in the mud. Rode single track for the first time on it. Header cracked like 19 times and the muffler practically fell off. Did a smoky burnout in the apartment parking lot. Explored the countryside every weekend summer 08. Nicknamed it "test bike". It never failed to start, ever. Loved it.

Sold it for 650. I miss it, I'd love to have one that ran well.

I got this '90 Ninja 600R for $1000. After reading this thread, I'm convinced I overpaid by quite a bit.

It uses oil, the wiring is kind of iffy, it's been laid down numerous times, the forks would bottom out with the slightest tap of the brake, and the tank rotted through a couple weeks after I bought the bike. I bought a parts bike for $50, which included a non-rusty tank and a decent Corbin seat. Shortly thereafter, I picked up a nice pair of $100 '95+ forks on eBay (which did away with the gimmicky anti-dive) and I was back in business... but still burning oil.

I took off the ugly fairings, olive drabbed it,and mounted a spare pair of Ruckus headlights with 55/60W bulbs. Much better.

It's got some stupid Dunlop tires (branded Harley-Davidson)... apparently the previous owner opted for the most readily available 16 inch tires, rather than finding the proper ones. I've been planning on swapping the swingarm and front end for ZX600E bits so I can have decent brakes and 17 inch wheels, but I might be trading the bike for a Honda CX500 this weekend.

'75 Kawasaki KZ400 bought for $300 with 7k miles, needed carbs cleaned, electrical system repaired, and a good exhaust system - p.o. had cut off original dual system and put on shorty racing mufflers. Put on almost 30k miles sold it for $500.

'89 Kawasaki Ninja 250 bought it for $800 with 8k miles, needed carbs cleaned and some fairing repair. Currently have 46,5xx miles on it.

Love the transformation. Paint the rims to match the color scheme IMO. I agree though you overpaid for that bad boy by a few hundred!

1994 Ninja 600r. My first bike. I miss this bike so much. I sold it at 35k miles. I rode that bad boy to florida from indiana a few times and up to canada once. It was the best $1500 I've ever spent. I know those bikes inside and out now. That darn thing fell apart more times than I could count... But I had some good times. The last pic is what she looked like before I got my hands on it!

Wow, clean 600R.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a Ninja that falls apart after/during every ride.

$1300. Charging system gave up the ghost. Think I still got $1500 for it. Fun beast of a bike.

Did you inprove the bike or did you left it as it was? If you did some improvements, I believe all of us would like to see them.
