One last one.

My bike by my hammock.

A better shot of the hammock. It's my preferred sleeping arrangement.

RidingUpAndDown,
I've camped in Echo Canyon at Dinosaur Nation Monument however, I don't recognize this location. Which campground is this one? Thank you in advance for the information.

DWT, Echo is at the W end of the park right. This is at the end of Park Service Road CR-123 off of Rt40 at the far E end of the park. There is a beautiful campground there under a large grove of what I think are cottonwood trees in a bend of the river. DNM is out of the way for many that are traveling thru but a what a spectacular place, and with a ton of remote dirt roads for those who want to get out there!

Cheers, dean

This may be a daft question, but why do so many of you put you tents up indoors and seem to avoid camping on grass?

My .02¢

I sometimes have set my tent up in a lean-to as a screened sleep room. In the morning, no dew on tent bottom or on fly to deal with. No bugs while sleeping and lean-to's are mouse havens, so no running over the face deal, etc… btdt with backpacking. As for no grass, if its there I'll use it, but some places only want a tent on "the tent pad."

Can't answer the "indoor" question. I don't think I've ever had that option. As for grass... it isn't available most places I camp. Pine needles, redwood dust, and dirt are my most common options.

No grass here, for example...
