NJ Pine Barrens TW-200, KLX 250 Part Deux

At 7:30am, Mustang pulled into my driveway. I was totally psyched for another go at the Pine Barrens........The weather was perfect......We get on the highway and head down to Mays Landing. Why? Because my friend lives there. But I forgot to tell him I was coming and he didn't answer his phone..Oh well....So we hit a McDs, load up on calories and we explore!

We tooled around Mays Landing for a bit but there were no good (legal) trails to be found, so we packed up the bikes and headed for Tuckerton (Exit 58 off the Garden State) and found all the trails we could ever want! (note: That backpack bungee'd to the bike had to be put on and worn as the whoops were too much)

There were a ton of great puddles! Both of us were plowing headlong into them....some very deceptive looking and over 2' deep.....It felt good as the temps were getting into mid the 80's

The soft sand was tough on both of us, but Mustang had a real hard time keeping the KLX rolling. He's got the relatively tame stock dual sport knobbies. Anybody have any recommendations on rubber for the KLX in deep sand? Even though the TW's fat tires float over most of it, the transitions between the hard and soft can be a bit unnerving. Once into the soft stuff, grip the tank and steer the bike with your knees! Power is your friend! If you grip the handlebars too tight you will over-correct and can easily crash. Ask mustang

He had a low speed get off or two but kept in to himself as he knew I'd be on him like the Paparazzi taking pictures

This was the end of the road.....Several Air Force A-10 attack jets were making high speed low passes.....I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that 30mm Gatling gun!

Finally after getting plenty sweated up there was a huge puddle......I hit that puddle at about 30mph, the wheel hit something submerged and SPLASH!

It was the highlight of the day:-) I was running around trying to get some good pics but none came out.
