Today eddieb and paladin came over to the wairarapa for a lazy ride in the sun.
As both had not ridden the pack spur road, i decided to drag them kicking and screaming through there.

as it turned out the road has been up graded and had metal on it.....piece of piss....

we arrived at castle point for lunch.

great sunny day..beach was very busy as its a 3 day weekend..

after a snack we rode down to the gap, at the castlepoint basin..

stunning rocks out there..

was a great day to go riding.

first gravel blast....new 950

while sitting here..this morn...misses went shopping...so me and bike,we go riding
headed for summer hill, from martinbrough end.

weather here today is great..warm and clear...

just wanted to get in some twistys, and hinakura hill is the place to go...
at the bottom as the lads know,,turn off to summer hill gravel road.

this cuts through farm land. and its one of my local great rides..

so in to it we go..cautious at first,,,getting the feel for the beasty....
so far so good...push it a bit harder and faster...still in my comfit zone,,,,

all good..
enjoyed the ride, weight wise, very close to the dr full of gas. handle much the same. more power at the hand.....must rember this on lose gravel corners...one slight unexpected power slide.......easy girl...dont kick me off...

coming back down the admril hill,,i just relaxed a bit more and let the bike do the riding for me.. instead of me trying to tell it what to do...

great ride great bike, great day..

Ocean Beach.....play time

well as yesterdays ride went good on gravel for me and new bike, i decided to take it off road and see what happens.....
I meet up with a few of the lads, Eddieb, paladin, aslan, balrog, and howie.

after a drink and chat, we headed for the southern wairarapa coast. ocean beach

we are heading to the furtherest point you can see in this photo.

its mostly rotten rock and sand roads around the coast. 3 smaller river crossings, and up hill sand....

sign says road closed..............not to us its not....

road gets a little better further round, but not for long,

lose shingle, sand and rocks....this is going to be fun....

you can do it eddie...

lunch time...

time to start heading out...
Jim....looking good mate

back through the sandy section up over the slip...

we decided to have a go at riding up an old creek bed, see how far we could go.. we got quite a way up, till it got a bit to washed out to carry on..

after this we headed back to featherston for a coffee and a chat...
great day out with great mates..

Hey Joe,
was the gate not closed because you had the key or did you just ride around it...?

That gate is not normally locked as far as I'm aware and wasn't that day.
