Vic Roads Approval Certificate Question
G'day brothers across the Tassie, I will shortly be importing my 950 Adv into Victoria and was wondering if anyone could tell me if my Leo Vince SBK cans will pass an Approval Certificate inspection for noise, or will I need to put the butt ugly OEM cans back on to pass.
Your guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Vic Roads can be Nazis when it comes to registering bikes, I'd recommend putting the originals back for the test.
you may need an Oz compliance plate too, a local dealer may be helpful.

Hey there,is your bike registered in NZ/if so it will be ok in Vic,just need a RWC from a dealer or mechanic and it depends on how loud the pipes are as to if it will pass,it should have a VIN plate (17 didgets)at the steering head if so it will be OK ,welcome to VIC cheers Nev

He's in NZ
NZ bikes are generally exactly the same as Aus bikes but do not have an ADR plate which could be a problem . |

Have a good nosey at your bike chassis number. If it's not 17 digits, they get all arsey about it. A mate imported a CBX750 from NZ to Oz a few years ago (to QLD), it only had a 14 digit chassis number. It turned into a debacle. He had to have engineering checks and certified chassis number stamped on a plate, and riveted to his frame. It end up costing him more than $1500. (which was more than the bike was worth..) They made more of a fuss about the Chassis number than inspecting the rest of the bike. I would be very surprised if NZ KTM's had a different Serial/VIN/Chassis engine number format from Aussie bikes. But worth taking the few minutes to check. ADR shouldn't be a big deal, as the same make/model is sold in Aussie.

Cheers guys, I have packed the origional pipes also so will hopefully be covered if the others don't pass. It should be on the water next week as I have my import aproval cert now. The whole process is very complicated and expensive as everyone in Aussie is clipping the ticket it seems!!!!!!
Looking forward to doing some riding over here....and hopefully will catch-up with some of you out on the trails. Cheers Jezza

If the vinces have baffles then no worries. Vic Roads actually don't do the check, all they do is check your RWC and Vin + engine numbers. Have a praccy at finding the engine numbers on the 950.
