again on my court, actually jersey city is not such a hot ticket for the nyc skyline, best views are in my personal order, from boulevard east in weehawken (we just did a night tag there a couple weeks ago on the gstor plus im biased cause i have the view one from my house the next town over ) then theres the hoboken waterfront park along frank sinatra way, lastly theres liberty state park in JC but im pretty sure thats a no no at night...if you dare to venture farther north you can do the state line lookout as well along the palisades interstate parkway...

we did a nightride/shoot a while back led by urban cowboy

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=238

1st one was our frustated attempt at a panoramic w the bikes along the monument overlooking the skyline of nyc into midtown from boulevard east

2nd one is from the state line lookout

If your headed up here lmk ill gladly show you the nightspots plus a couple nice roads up and down the hill (ie. bull's ferry, shippen st etc) we can do an impromptu night ride, bonus if you can manage to get here a bit before sundown ill take you along the palisades interstate park, that has a mean view from underneath the washington bridge and along the hudson

Actually you fellas need to come with me for some really awesome NYC views at night from the upper bay. Sadly after 32 years I no longer even notice or appreciate the view I get. I do notice the rapid progression of the new Freedom Tower though gleaming brightly at night, getting higher and higher. Most every time when Im inbound and going under the VZ Bridge, the foreign bridge team usually always asks me "where is the Statue of Liberty"? , the next right after that is where was the World Trade Center.

There's a park somewhere in Fort Lee that if you sneak in at night affords an awesome view of GWB and NYC skyline. Or so I've heard.

Liberty State Park is open 6AM to 10PM according to their website. Last weekend the GSTOR did a tag of the Empty Sky New Jersey 9/11 Memorial, there's nighttime http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...ostcount=18634, dawn http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...ostcount=18637, and early morning http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...ostcount=18643 shots. That was my first time riding over by the Hudson; can't wait to go back and see the views further North.

I don't know. I thought that Jersey City could be pretty spooky in the dark of night:

There were two separate three week periods when I was a company commander where my team was assigned to the GWB to augment the PAPD, do presence patrols, things like that. I accessed the base of the bridge a few different ways, and the overlooks.

As the CO I was fortunate...really got to see a lot of that skyline spending most of my time on the points after dark, quiet and placid...yet at the same time, pulsating across the river. It was intoxicating...never before saw it like that, or since.

The last time I was there was several years ago. Security at that time was a gate that was flapping in the breeze.

Excellent description. It was almost surreal, being so close to so many people yet being so calm and tranquil. Glad I was able to experience it.
