Yea, Liz was cool. I do what I can.

I just came back from Seven Mountains Conservation corp. I tried out their endurcross school. It was a blast and I honed some skills over various obstacles. And then afterwords, we rode the mountains.t

It was all good stuff. Logs, pile of logs, rock pile, big tires, box of firewood, woops, a jump and a bridge. Nothing to big or technical, with some good experienced instructors, we rode each obstacle numerous times and then tied it all togethor. I don't plan on entering any endurocross races, I just used it as a chance to hone some skillls. The crew from SMCC are all top shelf, a great bunch of guys. It was a good day all around and then everyone who wasn't worn out went for a trail ride on their loops and on the state trails where they run the Seven Mtns Enduro!

I hate those things, they are all over the UK, they even hide them in unmarked vans, riders have had to come up with novel ways to avoid a ticket.

RE: PC rider (Steve) desire for GPS. I think he just wants something that is easy to use and navigate around for the tags, and set up the BRUCE runs. Not to mention the taking of pictures and posting from road, etc. That has smart phone written all over it, versus actual GPS unit.

He is probably mostly staying in NJ, and not doing any offroad stuff, so a GPS GPS is really probably over kill.

And I am in the Sallydog camp as far as Android. Does not hurt that when I got my smart phone, Apple I-phone was not offered by Verizon yet, as well as Chris gave me some tips how to do what I needed phone to do, with tagging, mapping, etc.

Speaking of cell phones and plans, I am looking to potentially change the Verizon plan that the wife and I have. It is ridiculous that that cell phones( smart phones) with the data packages should cost us $162 per month. That is more than almost all of my household bills, outside of the mortgage payment.

Up to this point, we have always stayed with Verizon, due to them typically having the best coverage. BUT, with their new BS about charging a $30 fee PLUS the forced two year contract if you want to upgrade phone, and all new plans of data no longer being unlimited like we have now....we are seriously considering switching carriers. I am willing to look at carriers I would have thought of before.

My wants:
1. Has to be a carrier that has at least almost as good of coverage as Verizon.
2. None of these BS fees, that are over and above the monthly costs.
3. Hopefully be in the $100 range/month for what we have now.
4. Let us take our current phones and numbers to their plan. I am fine with my phone, but of course wife wants a new phone..as in her words, " her's is junk"( HTC incredible that now crashes on her).

Thanks for any feedback.

Doug Straight talk...with an unlocked droid phone..no contract...unlimited data useage...wifi...3g... is $45/month
depending upon what droid phone you buy...Mine is a cheapy LG OptimusQ that cost me as much as a better quality phone @$179...so I would not necessarily recommend this one....I have Verizon on another cell phone and while their network is good you are paying a premium for it...My 3g and wifi is
just as good with Straight talk as Verizon's net is with my cell phone... and did I say no contract??? You can transfer your existing phone #'s but its a PITA and if you have any trouble...calling their Cust Svc...is an exercise in futility......It was much easier and my phone activated faster by just getting a new #. I'm pretty pleased and when my verizon cell phone contract is up...thats it...no more.

Sometimes I get home and wonder exactly where I have been !
This was my first gps purchased back in 2006, before i started riding. Still works great. Mostly now only use it when
riding the harley due to the fact that hardwiring and/or mounting anything on the harley might ruin its clean lines...

Brass compass not included.

I'll admit its starting to get a little tough to see the small screen. So its safest to pull over to use...

Item has been long since discontinued, but units can still be found, both new or refurbished. And most likely Garmin
has replaced it with a more modern equivalent unit. Here are some of the box shots detailing its capabilities...
