It's going to be a while before they restore anything

Lots of cleanup!
One of the only 2 entrances to my development are blocked

Many of the raods are blocked with this

This is on CR 517 right next to the kiln used as a GS Tag

Got lucky, this was about 40' behind my shed

Last year we were without power twice, Irene and Halloween, 6 days each time, so I bought a generator on Sunday but the truck didn't deliver in time for pick up yesterday, so I went this morning. It took me about 90 minutes to go about 12 miles, lots of detours and dodging round fallen trees and wires:

before reaching the generator motherlode:

Red. It is a shit show around the lake. We wandered around up there for an hour with rig last night trying to find a way past the power line on 517. We finally had to go back to Andover and out to 80 and back. Today is better. But not by much

Some how the section of Newton my house is in has power. I think its the only street in Sussex county with lights.

so sad to see the Jersey shore in ruins, how the hell do you rebuild from that? This is by far the worst devastation from a hurricane in American history...Thank God the republicans aren't running FEMA

Anyone in the Toms River neck of the woods?

I am gonna have to go down and check on the house today or thursday. The neighbor says the boat in teh lift is cockeyed. And its normally 8-9 feet out of teh water.

I don't think 206 runs through Chatham. Do they mean Chester?

No electricity. No PSE&G trucks out in our neighborhood. No police vehicles. Wires hanging all over the place without warning tape or signs. Trees down everywhere.

Had to do a case in the OR yesterday morning. 85 degrees. No air conditioning. Showered at the hospital this a.m. First internet connection in two days.

Now we know what it was like in colonial days!
