I'm just a cunt who likes his bikes to stay nice looking. Cold is one thing, the roads COVERED in salt & gravel is quite another. Last year I rode now and then, this year between the broken wrist and constant snowfalls up here.............not so much. Actually, not at all! I haven't ridden since December 9 when I broke the wrist, except for up and down the street to hear what the new exhaust on my ZRX 1200 sounded like.
That is it right there. My SV1K engine cases are starting to corrode and chip. I went nine years with no issues, and then after one winter riding season with tagging....it started happening. Now I'l have to repaint them this year.

At some point, I'd like to get something like an old Honda Nighthawk..for commuting and tagging. Nice and cheap...and I would not care about leaving it outside...and its a Honda...will run good for decades with minimal maintainance.

good call doug! I have always liked them. There was one for sale at a shop near me, but the wanted 4k for it!!!
It had something like 2k miles and they considered it a 'collector'
Bullet proof bike though
I supersized it when I got the 'superhawk' to commute on

Yeah, my first bike was a 1985 Honda Nighthawk 450. Dog slow, but a good first bike. Candy apple red. I'd love to find another one....dirt cheap.

LOL..$4K. I would not pay $4000 for a new one..much less an older one. To many other bikes to get first in that used price range.

re-read, I am stupid on too much caffiene today. I read honda HAWK first. NT650. I have always been a big fan. But practical bikes are the best, I can always get behind that idea!
