Good stuff Jason--was thinking about us wiring in my garage--you are holding your own and then some. Never a pretender.

Ride safe.

The riding infection has got you good....and its AWESOME. Enjoy it as long as you can. It is the best therapy out there for most of us.

I'll be turning 40 this year, I have been on two wheels( both powered and non powered) for probably about 34 of those years. Some of the best times in my life when I was riding on two wheels. I have had some bad moments too, but like any other love/passion, as long as the good moments outweigh the bad moments, its all good.

After spending all of 2011/2012 riding without parking the bike once, I'm ashamed to admit that I had the first ride of 2013 today - nearly 1/4 of the year wasted!

Stupid Jersey and its overwhelming road salting.

Anyone else as bad as me? :(

Really amazing how rusty I was. I felt very uncomfortable in the low speed parking lot stuff. Remember to take it slow fair-weather folks!

The Future!

Took a ride to a farm also.............via the future

Had a chance to check out the Brammo Empulse R today

Was impressed by it. Figured it was going to be like a giant powerwheels.
Not so, it's like a real bike.
The weird thing is no motor noise, just a whirr on accel. & a whine on decel.
Conplete silence @ a stop

The seat height is low & the position is pretty standard. Bike is narrow & compact. All battery weight is lower & well balanced.
Brakes & suspension are all top shelf stuff & work great.
The electric motor isn't bad. It has a nice powerband from 4500-7000rpm, it will go to 8 but power flattens after 7.
Has a 6 speed tranny yet only 2 or 3 gears are really needed.
2nd will go from a dead stop to just over 70 and is pretty peppy
3rd will go from 0-80.
After 80 acceleration is pretty flat but it will break the ton
The bike has a clutch which is really only needed for shifting. You don't need it for leaving stops, just gas it & go. No need for neutral either, take off in any gear. Could leave it in 3rd all day. It will upshift without the clutch like any other bike, you just need really it for the downshifts. The electric motor does have quite a bit of braking, which also is supposed to help recharge the batteries.

Couple of cons.
Fueling Yes Fueling. The on/off transition with the electronics could be better. It feels like sometimes it's either on or its off. This makes slow manuevers a little tricky until you get the hang of it. Smooth steady throttle input is key. Slipping clutch will only make it worse as the motor/electronics work off of load/amp draw.
Some of it may be due to driveline lash also, or a combination of both.

Most importantly RANGE: Bike was fully charged 100% when I left. I went just under 50 miles (city, country & highway) & this is what the batteries said when I returned

I actually rode with it @ 0% for about 3 miles. I was saying to myself..........it pushed around the shop pretty easy, won't be too bad
Guess I shouldn't complain as my hyper will sometimes barely double that 50
Key though, I can completely refuel in minutes, not 3 1/2 hours

Disclaimer: please don't use my mileage as YMMV..............I was riding unsupervised

Here's one of their other models the Enertia which is supposed to be more like an urban scooter

Overall I was impressed as they should only get better!

Sunset on the BRP. 120 miles with not a single car (or cop) in front of me. A religious experience of sorts.
