There is an antique truck show in florham park today. 10-3 I think. Supposed to be a pretty big event.

Agreed.. I just don't have the time for 4 hours of riding round trip today so the 30 minute ride to florham park will do I guess.

Howdy Gents,

Taking a trip with my lady up to Ithaca in 2 weeks and wanted to get some input on a nice route up there.

The current plan is to head up to Hawks Nest and snake along 97 up to Hancock. From there, any suggestions on roads to take? I'm not looking to add significant mileage to the trip, as the riding is simply a means to get to Ithaca and enjoy a weekend OFF the bike. That being said, staying off the highways is a must...I want to take advantage of the riding time we do have.

Muchas gracias.

If you're going through Hancock I recommend taking 67 to 10 and riding along the cannonsville reservoir. After that little stretch I'm not much help

I don't have any recommendations for the route but my girlfriend and I once stayed at La Tourelle in one of their "Specialty Suites"
There's lots of hippies and hairy women in Ithaca but I can recommend you try out Waffle Frolic .

IMO, once you get up north of Narrowsburg / around Callicoon, 97 gets a bit boring as you can't see the river much, and it's fairly straight. I would try cutting N. from Callicoon, going through Roscoe, and take 206 (though 21/7 makes a nice little alternate before connecting back w/ 206). I'm not too familiar with the area West of Franklin (having usually veered more towards Cortland), but I'm sure someone else can make a suggestion. Ride time would be ~4 hrs. from the Port Jervis / Hawk's Nest area.

Yesterday was a great day to do some dirt to bad no one could go with me.
So I went by myself and meet this guy

(That little black spot is a bear) There was a club in the other direction I didn't stick around once I saw him.
Did some clearing of the trails up to the first viaduct.

Then hoped on 611 and blasted home, tired of falling over with no one to help get the bike off of me

Haha yes. However one of those ladies I've know since she was a baby, more like my little sister. Attempting to get her father to let me teach her how to ride😉

Let me know next time you do the run. I could hop on in 1 of 5 places that are equidistant from my house. In fact, if you don't mind some road riding I can supply the "safe" parking.
