well... it was suppose to be camping 2 day, 1 night ride with a few friends..

but when the date comes.. some are not well, some bikes not ready, and so and so...

finally... 4 riders at meet up point..

having different meals and jokes and laugh for about 2 hours while waiting for others..

especially the host, bobby as we are going to his mom's village.

no news from him, not taking the calls, no message,

so after 12:00pm, we decided to move off, and do what we wanted to do.. just ride..

we went to explore new trails, at Gelang Petah and Bukit Indah area, through some construction sites and development area

except that our bikes were full tank and loads of stuff (overnight cloths, food and such)

cut through some grass path, walkways.. without any navigation, just follow the lead bike (AJ) sense of direction.

found one golf course and ride along the outside of fence.. till we found nice grass patch..

then we follow some tight trails around but finally came to halt by landslide across the path

it was quite steep, could be able to manhandle through but we decided not to.. it would be more difficult to reverse it back and we dont know what lies ahead..

again... we were back to open route..

it was all good on slippery and bumpy ride.. until AJ decided to go up slippery and muddy hill climb..

first fall is DR350..

second fall.. again 350

it was too slippery that i was sliding down with my offroad boots..
even with good knobbies.. the bikes were full tank and load that we carry was so heavy..

dont worry.. it's all good

we came to unknown hill top.. the weather and view was awesome..

it was well worth it..

on road side.. we found skull of cow (or bull).. but nobody wanted to pick it up or bring it back..

SecretAgent closely eximining ..

we found underpass of North South Highway towards singapore..

the other side is Gelang Petah area

but it was barricated

tried to break it... but it's not good idea..

so we had to slide the bikes under..

XR650, XR4, DRZ400, DR350.. all are heavy bikes...

then.. we found the familiar trail... where we used to came with big trailies last year

after that... it's all good.. we enjoyed much of open trail with decent speed..

Damien on 350

last year.. Damien on Veestorm

again.. 350 drop

now.. it's about 5pm and we headed for dinner..

only than we managed to call Bobby.. he woke up late and thought we were on the way.. so he proceeded to campsite alone..

well.. we were not able to follow.. too tired to take another road trip for 2 hours to camp..

we proceed to wash bike and call it a day.. well next time ..

this was brought along in my sleeping bag...saved it for next camp..

some photos of our 2 crazy friends.. captions are from the riders themselves... not me...

Look at the nice moon..suddenly out of nowhere Jerome txt for "Adventure"!!next 2hrs he was already at my place

We decided to start with the path infront of my place

first fall.. jerome blamed it on strong wind (see the trees being blown by the wind.) oh well

Been wanting to see this ship for the longest time!!finally the tide was on my side

Look closely n u will see Jerome..

After walking for some time then I realized that we were actually stepping on shells instead of sand..

In Singapore they sell this for $25-$30 bucks!!here we can get it for FREE!!!

Finally decided to ride out...Jerome was stuck..tot it was minor problem but he suddenly said "it's Gona be a very long day!!"

tried to dug out the mud

We huffed,n we puffed...but Giselle was really stuck!

This is my Pastrana DC shoe which I got as a bdae gift

Haiz..no words to describe my feelings.

Jerome doing the cover "Ada lembu nak jaga!!"

after 1 hour, we decided to get shovel tool and water

Jerome using the shovel..proved to be much much harder as the mud was getting dry!!

Finally got the rear tyre clear of the mud

Haha planking while we had a break!!

that's all folks...

wanted to try night ride to mersing, the road is twisty and it will be fun to attack the curves in dark..

so posted in facebook, gather response.. and here we go..

Date 2012-01-14
route taken : [img]http://bit.ly/A5BFCO
12:00 GP Esso meetup
2:00 Sg Renggam, supper
6:00 Mersing Kopi
7:00 Sedili Kechil to catch dawn break
9:00 JB bike wash and brunch
10:00 home sweet home

meet up at GP Esso

Its been so long TDMs gather for a ride

Damien's Transalp

Some riders didnt show up, some were late

Tonight, we have 10 riders

4 TDMs
2 Fazers
1 Transalp
1 CB750
1 GS12

travelled 70km along highway and first stop around 2:00am.. coz lead biker is hungry... hahhaaha

but it's supper time.. so we all ordered too

Nasi Goreng USA (fried rice, USA Style, as they say)

after meal and laughters, we left to Jamaluang and Mersing

the road is dark and winding, uphill and downhill, headlights were not enought to point multidiretion when it come to twisties..

had to follow lead bike's tail light to sense the curve.

we went along comfortable speed (not knee dragging) so every rider was able to keep up with convoy. an it was very beautiful to see red tail lights lining along and taking curves (i was second last rider).

along the way, we changed the lead bike, CB750 to GS12, who is equipped with more lighting, as the road becomes more dark and curves are not marked.

AJ tried to adjust the head light

i tried to take some onboard cam

result is not good.. =(

finally reached Mersing town at 4:30am

for coffee break

CB's tail light came to loose, after some screws drop along the way.

we are lucky to find one petrol kiosk in operation, the rest are closed

then we left for beach, Sedili Kecil 6:30

beach is left untouched with morning breeze to fresh the sleepy ridres.

some decided to walk along the beach

but i decided to ride along the beach

a few of cam whore photos (bike porn photos will come later)

Tried to put on center stand, but it just bounced back, and there, bike didnt fall, well balanced ..

some are taking a nap

before leaving..

at sun rise... time to move on 8:00am

back to JB for bike wash and brunch.

the rest are here

Garmin GPS Dealer Advice

Guys

I moved to Sing 5 months ago and have been riding in Vietnam and Borneo on weekend holidays.

I own a Garmin GPS Map 62s and want to find a dealer who understands Adventure riders.

I want to get maps so I can go to these countries and find my way around.

I was in Japan last week and will be in Jakarta next week. If I have my GPS loaded with the right maps I could ride in a lot more countries

Who do you recommend

well... AJ is into older bikes but he likes older adv bikes.. not sports bikes.

you can try RS motor at kaki bukit autobay, rosli is one patient meh, when it comes to older bikes..

(you need to be patient with him too) my friend's bike was there for 3 month plus.

It has been a slow sunday ever since his departure.

We did a tribute ride to him back to his home town last Sunday.Remembering n relived what he would always wanted to do.
I would be fulfilling his dreams to ride to Kohsamui which didnt happen, jus a matter of time.
And like any ordinary Sundays,he will always be there be it doin bike at garage, going jb bikeshop,or riding.
All I have to do is text him.Even on his very last min,I think I was the last person he texted saying he was on his way.His great humble personality with great humour have always been remembered and will follow us in any place we would be riding in near future.
I spend 1hr goin back this thread frm page 1 and wish I am still in page 1.

You will always be with us brudder.RIP Bobby!
