What is your gas mileage with motoren israel 1000cc upgrade?

Have any of you done this upgrade?

http://www.motoren-israel.com/produc...N-GERMANY.html

If so, do any of you have gas mileage numbers? I am under the impression that it's around 25% more efficient.

Anybody have an actual MPG?

thanks.

Have a buddy who did the upgrade on his GS. Claims to get 35 MPG but his riding is mostly confined within the city (that's why he also had to do the Enduralast upgrade). I don't know what exactly went into his cyl upgrade but one thing I can say is his engine's damn quiet compared to mine!

Raising compression indeed improves efficiency.

You'll use premium fuel, of course.

If you're serious about improving economy, you'll combine this change with a higher (lower numerically) rear drive ratio, to get rpms down. Especially if the starting point is an 80.

I'd offer, of course, that expecting improved economy to pay for this modification is fantasy.

I'd also think "fantasy" the notion that pushrod shortening is a DIY proposition.

Let's hope not. I'm in the 38-42 range on highways with luggage and my CR is only 8.2:1

40 mpg is the ballpark amongst peers in ADV but many are on 32mm Bings, vs my buddy's 40mms. Not sure what effect the 40s have on mileage. Again, his riding is really confined to the city so that's another variable to consider. Maybe 35 mpg is really an improvement after all.

I get about 35mpg around town and 40 to 50mpg on the highway on my 79 R100. The highway mileage differs by speed if I keep the rpm's below 4000 I get closer to 50mpg.

It has 40 mm bings and 9.5:1 pistons with copper head gaskets.
