RockHound Rally

I'm signing up for the Rally Connex Rockhound Rally and I'm wondering who else is going?

There are timed stages if you want to run them, but you need to be part of a team, no solo running.

Here's the link to the RC schedule thread.

I'm hoping to team up with a couple of other riders so we can run the timed stages...

I hope you get the 950 ready in time! How fast/slow are you? I'm on a KLR and I ride the snot out if it, which as it turns out is kinda slow.

You got a buddy coming with you already, yeah? That'll make a team of three.

I hope I get the 950 ready too. If all goes well, I'll fire it up later this week. My friend Vince is coming. He's the one I've taken my last few good rides with, on the F650 TT Dakar.

I think we're both fairly experienced, although we're riding fairly big bikes. I do ok on large protruding rocks, but that's his weak spot. Mine is water crossings...

Hey Guys,

You got it - solo riders are more than welcome - but they will be starting after the timed competitive teams, and wont be timed individually.

Heres a teaser for the upcoming event - this ones gonna be an aggressive good 'un - see you there.

I have a 950 thats ready to go or a 690. The 950 has better range and an extra 100 lbs but is more than capable. I am solo at the moment and looking for team mates. I am medium speed in the woods on the 950 and can scoot right along on the 690. My Experience with Rally Connex is limited to riding sweep at Paris to Dacre last year on the 690.

Let me know....maybe we can do another 950 team as long as we don't copy team Kaboom....lots of broken body parts.

Not likely as I live in Calgary and am still trying to build some "offroad" skills which currently suck

the best way to build offroad skills is to ride a lot and ride with people that are better then you.

Trust me I know I chase my buddy down roads on our Wee stroms and that fucker is two up and I can't catch him. Hopefully this winter, if finances allow, I'll pick up a 250cc dirt bike/dual sport and get some much needed experience

Seth

I'd lean towards the 690 myself, I'm heading up there tomorrow morning, but from what I've heard the bigger bikes will manage, but in the end it comes down to work.

Which would be a better weapon for this ride, 400EXC or 640ADV?

I need a team too!
