Best brand & place to get oil filters for F800GS?

Just about to do my first oil change on my '09 800GS and I was wondering what you guys would recommend for the best brand of oil filter and where to buy them.

Thanks in advance!!

While my F8GS is under warranty I plan to use BMW filters. Either I'll get them from the dealer where I bought the bike, or order them from one of these places:

Your only choice as far as I know are the KN-164 by K&N or the BMW. I just did the third oil change two weeks ago at 6000 miles. The first two (600 and 3000 mile) the dealer did. This one I did on my own with the KN-164 and also switched to Amsoil 20w-50.

The great thing about the K&N filter is you don't have to have a special BMW filter wrench since it has a 13 or 17 mm nut on the end (I forget right now). I got mine at Cycle Gear here in Vegas on one of their 10% off Saturday sales so the final price was $13.50 per filter... not bad at all.

Also, my dealer claimed to only have white / silver filters which cosmetically look like crap on a black motor. Screw them!

As well, my tranny was quiet before but it is noticeably quieter during shifting with the Amsoil.

In a pinch

you should be aware that any filter that will fit the 12 will fit the 8. Not sure I with one on a regular basis, but I did print a copy of the spreadsheet for the 12 with all of the aftermarket numbers (got it off of Gspot)

Note to self: reprint that, for the new wallet!
