V Strom specs are 20,000 miles. Some people say after 2 rear tires. Mine are in very good shape at 16,000 miles. They will be replaced at 18,000 to 20,000 miles. If there is any slop they should be replaced. Slop to death of the rubber I think is pretty quick. This should be a proactive not a reactive service.

I spoke too soon in my posting. I just took my DL1K in to get a new back tire mounted at 12k miles and my mechanic told me my rubbers are nearly done. They look good, but they are sloppy and worn.
