If I only had the scratch, that would make a great stablemate for WUMPA.

About the only thing it needs is a car pusher. Anybody know if you can mount a car tire directly on a 5.5x17" moto rim? Seems like you should be able to.

Edit: Just answered my own question-- Bridgestone Potenza RE040 175/55/17

And if you can find this tire in the US or Canada, please let us know. Not an easy (or some say possible) task.

Agreed, that is a well set up rig at a great price.
As mentioned, that size isn't available here. The smallest I found is the Yokohama S-Drive in 195/45. It was a bitch to mount on my 17x5.5 K bike rim, needed 6mm of spacers and still hit the cast brace in the swingarm when hot and expanded. required some work with a sander on the very corner of the tread. Problem is the low profile has a flat wide tread, not rounded at the outside.
Look at what Zenrider uses on his RT/Hannigan rig.
I'll probably go with an adapter from Claude for mine in the future.

Does anyone have, or know of, a decent list of sidecar values.. say, ended ebay auctions or the like?

I've got a lead on a BMW sidecar owned by an old man and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger to mount up to one of my bikes. He won't let me look at unless I agree to his price, but I'm not going to agree to a price unless I can look at it.

I have a vague idea, but it would be nice for some facts.

Agree to a price then change your mind after you look at it. You are the buyer and have no obligation to part with your cash unless satisfied with the product.

Not unusual in Europe at all, 'cept they're mostly using 250 and 350 2 stroke MZs. That Rotax motor would be positively ginormous.

That's my plan so far. I just don't want to make the guy too mad because he might have a stash of other interesting parts that would become available if he digs the sidecar out.

Now here is a real entry level rig, and a cool one at that. 1979 XS1100 with a Watsonian for $3k near Charlotte NC.

That was cool. Listing deleted may mean sold!
Someone got a deal. Those 1100s got a few ponies.

I just never paid any attention to stuff like the above XS until I got a hack.
I hope the buyer is a member here; I would be interested in how it performs.
