As for saying its a girl car you must have never driven one. The car handles way better than my 96 C4S, it is much faster and being so much lighter it stops better as well. Not much downside. For the money its a great car.
I find it amazing that since the 986 Boxster S is so much better than a 993 C4s that they sell 1/4 the price of the older 993. Could you explain this to me?

While the Boxster is a fun little car it doesn't compare to a 993 in terms of quality and timeless beauty.

1 - 356
1 - 944
5 - 911's
1 - 996
1 - 930 Turbo

Recenly had a Cayman S for two weeks and it out handles all of the above on typical public streets.

The 911 requires a fine touch. I've never really mastered it but I keep trying. :)

Boxster Recap

In closing, there is absolutely no reason why you should not buy a Boxster or Cayman. Well, there is one: they cost money. If you don't have money, you shouldn't try to buy one. It's going to be embarrassing for everybody involved. Otherwise, you should absolutely buy one. Anybody who gives you flack and calls it a girl's car is a child.

Oh right, profits. I always forget about that piece.

Come on now John, the Cayman looks much better in person than in photographs.

The new Cayman IMHO is gorgeous in person... New Boxster isn't bad either, but nowhere near as attractive in my opinion. Unfortunately no hard top option for the new Boxster either.

The Cayman is the hard top option for the Boxster.

I knew it would stir up the thread.

I am serious about a 2013 Boxster S. I just have to get over the mental block about he cost of doing business in Canada. It's not the total price that bothers me, just the delta over the US cost. I'm up here for work and am better off financially for it so I'll just have to suck it up.......frustrating though. /rant

Anyone care to talk me out of it?
I don't chime in too often, but...

I bought a less than one year old 2000 Boxster S back in late 2000 from some guy that buys a new one every year. It was immaculate with tons of options. An absolutely beautiful ride! I kept it until a few months ago. It still was in showroom condition with just over 30,000 miles. I had ALL the bells and whistles; Roock rims, speedster kit, door and bumper plugs, das hood and trunk covers, etc...

I probably had $55,000 - $60,000 invested and like I said IMMACULATE! Due to retiring from the military and moving onto another job, I had to sell. I got crushed... absolutely crushed... in the resale.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THE RESALE VALUE! IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!

Resale is less than a third of purchase price. WTF?

Talked out of buying a Boxster yet?

BTW, for what it's worth, I loved that car and would buy it again. Just make sure you can deal with all the money flying out of your wallet when that top is down.
