Olive-Drab Al Clears Moody...
OK, last weekend, I met Jet123, DPsmith, TST4Ever and od_al and we rode Moody, et al...well, Al didn't make it up Moody and turned around. So, today, Al got back on his horse and was determined to make it up. He succeeded, and pushed his own personal limits. Moody, White Pine, OFR cleared. Great job today, Al!
Staging at Moody. Al with his Canadian Tuxedo (he had a chest-protector underneath) ![]() ![]() Coming up to the Crux. Al picked the perfect line, and his confidence level soared! Even after dropping the DRZ a few times, he stuck with it. Good Determinatin' to ya, Al! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Al in his Canadian-Protected-Tuxedo ![]() Hangin' on Moody. FYYFFs ![]() Dancin' and havin' fun! ![]() Moody Overlook: ![]() "What's up, Al?" "I cleared Moody!" "Sweet!" ![]() Al: "I'm finally having a good time on dirt!" ![]() Obligatory "Salute" from Al (I love the reflection in my sunglasses, BTW): ![]() Sweet singletrack...now with more rocks! ![]() Where's Waldo...err...Al? ![]() I wasn't aware you could start a DRZ400 with your hand. That is a feat impossible to do with my playzNXR400...Al, too kewl... ![]() Ahhhh...OFR: ![]() "Hey, Al! Go ride up ahead, and I'll get a photo of you...ummm...almost crashing!" (To be honest, Al had to pull me out of a compromising situation as well, but, he didn't have a camera, so it never happened )![]() It was great to see a dirt-n00b conquer his previous failure I'm glad I could help another rider gain confidence, and learn skills for his future endeavors. Al, ya did great today, man. --C.J.

DRZ400????????wtf man?????
Thanks for the help today. 'Specially with that whole pick up the bike routine. Was great riding with you and a major boost for my confidence. But seriously the yellow monster is a DR350 not a DRZ400 and nobody told me that level thingy on the side was a KICKSTARTER this whole time I thought it was a hand starter
Who knew???? By the way.....why is it that in all of your pics I look sofa king stoned?

That was a 350? PrairieRider rides the pizz out of one of those. You need to teach her how to "Hand-Start" one of those! That was impressive!
"By the way.....why is it that in all of your pics I look sofa king stoned?" We all look like that. It's the "WTF???" look we all get after a while....Exhaustion coupled with the simple desire to end the pain. Get used to it. "They're nihilists, Donny, nothing to be afraid of.... " Apologies to "The Dude..." and all...it's OK, just rub some stank on it...

Good job, Al!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I did my first loop out on Thursday night trying to get up Moody for my first time. I was on a '98 DR350 dirt model. Bike was fine and so was I except for a bum bruise. Conditions were a bit wet and my brain was elsewhere, so Hell took it up the step and I continued on from there. Hope I can do as good a job as you next time up! Hand start?!

![]() In the "hand-job" picture, I have no idea where you guys were. If I might make a suggestion, Al should have gone straight, over the big flat rocks between the trees to the left of this frame. Dropping down thru the muddy rut with tree roots is much more difficult. Just say'n.
