I knew that, but couldn't recall which road it was that I passed your funny mailbox. No matter, I needed to head off and get a new tag:

Now, those with really sharp eyes will note the yellow flag just to the right of the stonework terrace. Yes, this is another golf course. Quite probably the toughest course in New England. I played it a few years ago and donated about dozen or so balls to the woods and hazards.

Course view from up on the terrace:

Oh yeah... the scenery doesn't suck there either. Knowing the name of that inselberg in the background will surely help you place the course.

With the addition of our latest dusting of the white stuff, riders may want to approach from the south. The northern approach has a couple of miles of (fun) dirt roads. If you can't get into the parking area close enough for a photo of the stone terrace in the tag, a photo with the course's sign (from the paved street) is acceptable.

New tag clue: You'll probably have a better chance of reproducing this photo now.

I'm not sure how well they plow the parking lot that the original tag photo was taken in.

I've killed it!

Yeah, I freely, albeit sheepishly, admit that it seems that I have killed the NNE TOR.

It has now been over two months since I grabbed and moved this tag last. But nary a peep about it on here, never-mind any intrepid adventurers actually venturing out to grab said tag. And it isn't even in a place that is particularly hard to get to in the winter months, for NORTHERN New England. I mean, it's not like it is in Colebrook or Derby Line or Caribou or something.

There have been several spells of a day or sometimes more when the temps were high, and the roads were clear enough, and the sun was bright enough, to have motored around and got this, and also partaken of the visual splendor that is Mt Monadnock in it's winter coat. But, no...

My only conclusion is it is for lack of interest. NNE adventure riders are afraid of a little cold. You pussies.

This ends my feeble attempt to get this TOR moving again. I'd like to play some more, but when nobody else is willing (or able), it just sounds a lot like one hand clapping.

I guess that you are right. I've gone and done it now...

Maybe there needs to be a new T3 (Tag Too Tough) Let's Keep It Movin' rule? Something like this:

When any old tag is of such unappealing location, is too difficult to get to by normal adventure riders, or the weather is just too yucky, that it results in no one deciding to go after said old tag for over two months, the tag is declared null and void and this results in a "toss up." *

* A toss up is where anyone can post any new tag location photo and claim the tag without having actually visited the old one.

I should have inserted the "tongue in cheek" emoticon. I was just teasing (still). I don't think a tag should be nullified just because nobody wants to go out into the cold to get it.

As for Kung Fu, I was still in high school when that series originally aired. I loved that show. Looking back at it, it still looks pretty cool. Too bad about Caradine's exit technique though. I guess he just never really learned the control skillz of the ninja.
