Damn, sorry to hear

The kiddo's boyfriend's 15ish year old golden retriever didn't make it through a procedure today too. Bad day all around for dogs in my world.

need to say this.

let's see if I can get this right.
We are sitting around the 'secret' "stoner's fire",,(funny, none of the people around the flames partake in the devil weed, except one or two)
everything is going along swimmingly, then someone mentioned too bad about Layla, and how she had died that very morning.
I was stunned!
I could not begin to believe it until my brother Zack confirmed that she had failed to recovery from surgery.
I lost it on the spot, tho doing my best not to break down blubbering like the sentimental fool I am. Layla was my sister, and I feel graced that she acknowledged me on different occasions.
I had been told the previous evening by TourPros that Amaruk has cancer. I bonded like a brother the very first time I met him, and he knows me to this day.
the fire burned down, it got late, folks wandered off to bed and left the remnants of drunken dog lovers around the fire.
We talked, and shared dog stories, and past and future emotional earthquakes, then I found myself alone by the coals with the last few sips of whiskey left in the jug.
I sat and thought for a long while, probably until AJ was just starting the pig fire, about 4AM,,I thought of saddling up and riding to my brother Dire's side,,yeah sure,,that'd be smart!,, then another wave of melancholy swept me, and I cried for a bit, missing my dog friends, missing my peeple friends and resenting the sorrow and pain inflicted that their passing brings on everyone they shared life with,,,weeping until I could clear my eyes and stumble to bed.

The next morning there were people scurrying about, making food, preparing for the day, bacon waffles, and the whole deal!
I slept thru all of that, and by the time I awoke and rolled out of my tent to water the bushes,,it was time to gear up for a ride to the 'Zen' spot,,and I was told,"you better get your gear on,,we're leaving!".

AND SO I DID!

right from the low of whiskey fueled sorrow to the bright sunny mountain side high,,in one easy wake-up!
That's what I love about my ADV family!,(,wake up asshole,,yer missing it!)
