Mort, those were some of the best rides/best times I ever had on red bikes. No cell phones/GPS/GoPros/JetBoils. My luggage system was a flight case, cargo net and tank bag. No tent, just a tarp and a Kmart bag. Froze my ass when it was cold, broiled when it was hot. But I was IN IT, impacted by the awesome single-track surround.

Yeah, the black bike rulz down there, but it ain't the same as taking flight on whatever the hell 'ya got to ride with whatever 'yer wear'in on your back and whatever's left in 'yer wallet to follow 'yer nose to the horizon.

Mark Twain: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

He was a very cautious man who never romped and played
He never smoked, He never drank, Nor ever kissed a maid
And when he up and passed away his insurance was denied...
For since he hadn't ever lived, they claimed he never died.

...

Yeah, my first off-road ride was on a 305 Superhawk, no suspension travel, no ground clearence, no CE armor jacket, no jacket on any kind. Helmet? I knew a guy who had one, but he used it only for drag racing his car.

goiters were more common when you were "young",,so what's yer point?
Oh,,and Hells,,,,,ya whippersnapper!
I'd post my tale of trailblazing the first ride-able track to the headwaters of a specific creek via Tote-Gote and an axe in 1959,when I was 10,,but there might be a statue of imitations that yet applies,,so I won't!
My trail is STILL there!

This is why in the last 24 hours I've decided to go to Columbia. So I guess Baja is off.... for this year.

If you have enough $$ to put TKCs on your goiter, I say go for it.
