Siberia Ural

I'm at the edge of retirement and starting to plan a trip along the Road of Bones. I'd rather not ship a bike to Magadan but rather buy a bike in country. I'm thinking 2wd Ural. Anyone have an idea what a new 2wd Ural sells for in Magadan?
Thanks,

Maybe you should consider a used one that's not too old. Urals need careful and prolonged breaking in, and the Road of Bones is probably not the place to do it.

Good point. I'd be up for used.I'm also up for puttn'round locally till broken in... also up for a locally available alternative bike.
Side question, Export to US Ural's seem to be improving rather well compared to the early exports. Are the local/domestic ones of the same quality as the exports?

I don't know for sure if IMZ cherry-picks for US exports.

What you oughta do is repost this over in the "Hacks" section where all of the Ural gurus hang out. Check out Sovietsteeds.com too.

In central Asia, used ones were going for about $400 in 2004. I would not do the road of bones on one alone, new or used. Trans Siberian- sure, but not the road of bones.

You better have a good plan for what you are going to do when that thing leaves you stranded.
