You aren't going to find anything below MSRP from dealers since there is such high demand. I waited 6 months to find a used one from a dealer (bought it within 4 hours of it getting to the dealer floor) and got a reasonable price only because I liked all the accessories and they did not add much to the resale price. Good luck!

That said, I paid list on my '09 F8GS/ABS and got a very good trade-in on my '05 R12GS (with 47K miles). The trade-in brought the price into the "very affordable" territory.

My .02
I guess biggest thing is going to be your area, availability etc... With ABS w/o heated grips or onboard computer you probably aren't going to do much better then around 12'ish OTD. W/O ABS maybe get you down to around 11.5 OTD (ABS is listed at $900 bucks on the tag) For a used '09 with ABS bone stock I wouldn't think you would find much very far below the 10k range. I was dealing on a used '09 from a dealer for around 13k but that bike was tricked out with around 2.5k in accessories so that price wasn't bad either. Anyways, to sum up, subjective to area and availability. If you notice BMW hasn't had any sort of deals on the F800. I was flipping between used 1200 GS's, New F800's and used 990/950's and felt the price I paid for a new F800 was fair with ABS in the 12k range.

I live in Tampa and drove 3 hours to Ft. Lauderdale BMW to get a used one with 200 miles on it at $10k. I thought it was a great deal. Not one issue yet !

I would agree that was a good deal and worth a few hours ride.

I paid 12.9k for mine a month ago. Got the standard package...heated grips, computer, ABS, and clear turn signal lens covers (?). I traded an '07 650 that I bought used with 1600 miles. Put 4k miles on it. They gave me 5k for it as a trade which I thought was fair.
I would say wiggle room might be with accessories like bags, center stand. They gave me a discount on that stuff, but nothing else. |
