Breathing Cold fresh air

Been there done that, after 35.

I am old enough to be you dad so here comes some fatherly advice, with lots of ADV love.

You are now being followed by a loving bunch of inmates, old, young, big, small, rich, poor, etc. WE are all with you , mentally, physically, and with your opening sentence emotionally also.

Ride smart, think smart, be SMART , contact any or all for immediate support.

We just did a similar ride in the opposite direction, word of advice if you go down 101, when you get to Leggett take Highway 1 / 208 to the coast... if that doesn't help clear your head nothing will

see ya soon

helmet time can be like time travel, you leave and 400 miles or so later you arrive with a empty head and void of thoughts other then food and sleep

There is nothing more glorious than cranking some opera in the headphones and riding the avenue of the giants...it really is like church.

when I go for a ride like this i have a hard time not trying to make time and knowing when to stop. I also have a hard time pulling over to take a photo..or circle back..I think it is a genetic pre-disposition. Tonight I decided to stop at 6:30 rather than keep going to SF. I told myself..relax it's the closest you are going to get to a vacation in a long time and i have all day tomorrow to fart around SF. I pulled into garberville and got a room along with about 20 other motorcyclists

shitty connection waiting for pics to upload.

Really nice to spend all day in the saddle though and the bike was dialed in..running like a top.If I could figure out a way to make my daily commute the Ave of the giants..that would good.

I'll post some pics asap.

Beautiful area...more redwoods coming down the road. There is just something magical about the redwoods. We camped just down the road at Benbow on the way to your party in Hood River. Ideaman took a beautiful ride around there somewhere but I couldn't tell you how to get there. PM him if you are interested. He's in Dawson City tonight and may have internet. While he was riding the boys and I swam in the river...awesome! There was a cool rope we could swing out over the lake and jump in. Very fun!

Hang in there and enjoy the ride!

first I had my mechanic give the bike a full pre-ride inspection

he gave it the thumbs up and I was good to go
I look like I'm half drunk on wine coolers in this pic

I decided to take a friend with me on this ride.

so as usual I hit the coast on 101 and didn't bother stopping except for gas until lunch time. It was the perfect oregon coast day perfect blue from sky to Ocean..but that also meant a lot of motor homes and an incredible amount of roadwork with some 15 minute waits. I live here ..so I tend to not take pics of it anymore..dumb I know.

speaking of road closure waits. I'm in a long line of cars behind a nice retired guy on his HD elctra glide ..retired from Arizona doing a loop around the country..on his way home from sturgis..and the guy next to me is from medford on a sporty..riding it like a motherf*ckr in a sweatshirt and tennis shoes

anyway I bring this up because just because we chat about our travel plans while waiting for a road escort it does not mean that you can share my lane with me like we are Jon and Ponch running down the 05 to fight crime somewhere. keerist a few miles down the road and I'm behind a PU with a trailer that decides he needs to make a left RIGHT NOW. He practically locks em up trying to make his turn accross oncoming traffic..I 'm getting ready to punch it and go to my right around him and there's HD retirement glide..with his front tire right at my foot peg I recover and throw an anchor down to stop..but it takes me another mile before I get a break in traffic to wick it up and get away from Ponch..WTF

anyway i was running for the Kebab house per Johnny Drunkards instructions when I realised I needed to stop at The Barnacle Bistro.. a great restaurant owned by our very own Sector. She wasn't there but Lunch was great and i met the staff and a guy from BC who is a vendor Kawidul or something.

I was so hungry i forgot to take a pic of the Tuna melt with pesto but it rocked
oh look they had a sticker left

no lanyard for the camera but some on the fly shots neer Gold Beach

I don't know what happened here but I like it

who would have thought a drunk 60 year old hippie chick would turn me on to the best restaurant in town. She came out of this door..so i don't think it is a strict policy

Did you know Gerberville has a true to life Cajun Restaurant and it is great I had the BBQ Shrimp with extra bread because the sauce was that good
