I am a little bit jealous about the many gravel roads, you have in the US.

Here in Germany, most roads are paved and gravel roads are normallly not for public use. Unfortunately!

We stayed at the Maltana Inn one night. Took Rt 2 out of Duluth also, but dropped down at Minot to I-94 for lodging, then west till Glendive, out to Circle then north to Ft. Peck Lake and Rt 2 again. Awesome country,,, never get tired of the "BIG Sky"!!!!
Would go back in a heartbeat,,, any time of year.

S.W. Oklahoma -- 90% of the county/country roads are dirt or sand.
