Edge of plains

Tree line in distance is the very western edge of the high plains in Central New Mexico. About 6000' elevation here. The mountains (Manzanos) rise to 10,000'+.

Sod Buster--
Care to share how you make your windmills look like that? Here or a PM?
It adds so much to a simple photo!

scootac, the painted effect is built into an old Sony DSC S85 camera. I am not sure if any newer cameras have this effect or not, I think I have been carrying the old sony for over ten years. I have always liked the effect for prairie photos. And I love Chicago AERMOTOR's.

The setting on the camera is solar.

THANKS for sharing!!!
I thought it was something from Photoshop or similar. I'll have to see if I can do something similar with a couple pics.
Keep your photos coming!!!!

If you love the great plains you should love this song...

The Tragically Hip: At The 100th Meridian.

"going down the corduroy road... weeds standing shoulder high..."

Great Song

Pic from today.. "where the great plains begin" (and the rockies end)
