You guys should have a great weekend. The weather's going to be clear and the dust should be greatly diminished after last weeks huge rain storm. I was up there the weekend before the storm and the dust and flys were obnoxious.

Awesome time down there this weekend. We got a nice campsite
at Kirk Creek and the riding was excellent!

Thanks to Spartan and Condor for a great weekend!

A few pics from the trip.

Looking forward to doing this ride again soon!!!

What a great ride! A BIG thanks to scottmac for securing a camp site and showing us around in the mountains.
Condor, it was good to ride with you and hope to meet up again. I vote we go again in the spring.

Good times

Great ride in the trails above the Pacific. Scottmac, thanks for the guided ride and for setting up the perfect camp site. Spartan, thanks for the great dinner, I don't think the racoons even liked my terriake turkey freeze dried bag.

The ride back through Hunter-Ligget was nice, Went past Pondorosa Camp and it was empty, right on a small creek and not too many bugs.

We couldn't have asked for better weather, I'm in for next year.

Thanks for the photos! Looks like the weather was in full cooperation for you guys! Wish I'd been there, but the weekend up at Elkin's Flat was similarly steller

I love fall in California

Thanks for the pix. That's my old stomping grounds. Last time I rode the ridge road was after a fire, (don't remember which one tho), and everything on the ground was black or gray. And the sky was an incredible blue. That was also the first time I saw the bald eagles up there...... Thanks for bringing back that memory.

Nice!

Great to see Willow Creek from the Mt's above. Maybe next year. For Scottmac just got back from Punta Conejo, Baja.

Route Question:

I'm planning on taking a group from Hwy 1 up Plaskett Rd to S Coast Ridge Rd to Nacimiento-Ferguson and then down to Hwy 1.

I'm familiar with N-F road, but not the rest. Will Plaskett and S Coast Ridge be okay for R1200GS's (i.e. reasonably graded etc.)??

Plaskett road is gated a few miles up. It crosses private property
and the property owners only allow USFS vehicles for emergency
access.

You can do the same loop starting at Los Burros rd. off of HYW1
five miles further south. Look for the Treebones resort, Los Burros
road is to the left.

You should not have any problems on the 1200GS's, I rode it a
few years back with a friend who was on a 1200GS.
