Lucky bastards. I've never even won a plinth before.

But I have won at mahjong--against real Chinese even.

Yeah, all those years reading motorcycle and car magazines has really paid off. I'm all set for retirement.

Ok, so the charging circuit seems to be putting out a constant thump above 14 volts. Remembering this is an Electrex World Reg/Rec that's within spec. I ran 25 or so miles with a voltmeter in the top of the tankbag & the output seemed solid.

Half an hour or so after I came to a halt @ The Place having returned from a weekend away I found the battery to be at around 12.58 volts.

When the bike was left for a couple of days without running over the weekend the battery had gone down to around 12.19v after a similar measurement after the journey there and it took a while sitting on the trickle charger to get it to a point where the bike would happily start. Once it started it ran happy all the way back, so I'm wondering about either some form of load that's dropping the battery when left standing, or maybe a flakey specific gravity that means the battery's not holding charge on a chemical level... or Something Else.

Sometimes they knock the 3rd wheel or the passenger off, or collect unwanted baggage.

Yes.

I really really wanted to leave it at that for laffs, but you have enough problems.

Listening to our bullshit, so . . .

To check for a drain, disconnect the ground, oops, earth cable and wire a 12v incandessicant bulb (test light, instrumental bulb, whateverwhich) between the terminal and the end that ya just took off. If the bulb glows, you have a drain somewhere. Where? Feck if I know, that's up to you and it's a lot of fun finding it. Systematically unplug shit ONE THING AT A TIME until you isolate the problem, then fix it. Drinking helps. Drink and narcotics in tandem helps like you wouldn't believe.

If the bub (Southern U.S. for bulb) does not glow, I would suspect the battry (Southern U.S. for . . .).

Or, as you said, it could be Sumpin' Else (yes, that's . . .).
