Exhaust Joint Packing
That would sound awfully funny out of context
The question i have is this: I have a 1978 CB125, the previous owner removed the muffler via sawzall. I have played with a couple new mufflers however they are a larger ID than the OD of the exhaust pipe. Even with clamping it all the way there is still a little seepage through the joint. Does anyone know where they sell something to fill the void (some sort of packing or wrap to put in there) or should i just try and fill the void with silicone or something. Open to suggestions, thanks!

you could cut a strip of aluminum or steel out of a tin can and wrap it around the pipe, repeat with more until the desired thickness is reached, then clamp the muffler over it.

You could also get the adapter units that comes in universal mufflers as long as the two dimensions (muffler ID, header pipe OD) fit your measurements. I'm also looking for some packing/gasketing material to re-install a Kawasaki exhaust system. In the UK it is known as "collector box packing" but I have not found a similar USA source and the item is NLA from Kawa.

I looked into this once and the material is a graphite with a steel mesh internals. I've used ultra black silicone before to seal small gaps. You could use black exhaust wrap or aluminum duct tape.
